Tiny Anvil of Choice
Love love love this sturdy little anvil, and when I say little I mean little. This thing was a lot smaller than I expected I did not pay attention to the dimensions but I love it. This thing is the perfect little portable anvil for your usage. I use it for many things. Warning though this things comes wrapped in plastic loaded with oil so it doesn't rust (Be careful when opening) After cleaning up the opening it did its job. Very sturdy and happy with my purchase. Starts to rust over time but that's not a problem and is very easy to clean up. Pros: -Small/Portable -Very Durable Cons: -Packaging loaded with oil so be careful. I highly recommend this to anyone that needs a small anvil to use. I use it for tapping out coins into small jewelry such as rings.

Excellent hobby anvil. And an excellent price.
This is a very reasonable price for the product. It is a solid anvil, perfect for small wire or very small bar hammering. I used it to flatten twisted strands of Nichrome 80 alloy, and while I noticed some slight surface marking, the steel is definitely steel smooth. And it comes drilled and tapped for a center mounted anchor bolt on the bottom, but I have bothered to figure out what size it is yet. It doesn't include a bolt, though. But since the thickness of work benches can easily vary, it's probably better to buy your own anyway. It arrived quickly, the steel was greased and wrapped in plastic to prevent rust, and the unmachined surfaces are finished in black paint. I recommend this for hobbyists. I used mine to flatten wire for coils for vaping. I had to ensure that I had removed all of the grease when I got it to avoid contaminating the wire, but this was the perfect tool for the job. I included a photo to explain the extent of the surface marking I mentioned. It is purely superficial.

Oil coating wasn't anything problematic for me like others had
Oil coating wasn't anything problematic for me like others had, and it took a beating quite well. I wish there was a better way to mount it, but I understand their reasons for the mounting hole on the bottom. If you want to mount it (I don't know why you wouldn't?) I'd recommend making a small stepped platform under it to mount the initial screw to, and drill four holes in that to mount the thing. Because of the hole placement, the momentum will be easily dissipated if you drill a hole in the bottom of the table and put the screw underneath (not to mention it WILL get loose very quickly). If you instead use that hole to build another mount to then mount a screw downward per corner, you won't waste as much kinetic energy. Optimal construction would be stainless steel box with all corners welded, and filled with sand. The sand will help stabilize the anvil and the steel box will provide a VERY solid mount. It will also dissipate the force before it reaches the object you've mounted this to. Of course, this would cost probably about $5-10 so it's perfectly understandable if you don't want to increase your tiny 1 pound anvil's cost by 33%.

Well built, good deal
This is a great little anvil. Seeing all the lower rated reviews, yes they should list the dimensions, but clearly people do not know the typical sizes of jeweler's anvils and aren't paying attention to the pictures. This is actually on the larger size at 4.75" long, 2" high, 1.25" wide. It's quite heavy and surfaces are polished smooth, save for the faces where the horns stick out of (for the price, I had hoped that would be clean). Mine is also all silver with no black.

super compact, or WEE
Hey! When people say it's small, they mean its SMALL. Tiny, little, miniscule, diminutive, elfin, midget, undersized, pocket sized, Lilipution, pint sized, itty-bitty, puny, super compact, or WEE. It's smaller than a pack of cigarettes. But, that said... It's an AWESOME little anvil. It has one 3/8" mounting hole in its underside to bolt to the bench. I've used it a good deal. Just so you understand, it's small. It came in an envelope, not a box. I like it!

The cone on the side worked great for smoothing the inside of the ring
I was able to turn a coin into a ring so it works. It is very small. The cone on the side worked great for smoothing the inside of the ring.

This anvil is exactly as described and pictured. It's small and solid and wisely coated with lubricant to keep it from rusting. I use it for wire wrapping and metal work for jewelry. It's exactly what I was looking for. Satisfied with the customer service, packaging and quick delivery. Also, great follow up by the shop to assure customer satisfaction.

Looked just like the picture and finish was great!
Mine looked just like the picture, and I was fairly impressed with the finish and the quality. I haven't used it as an anvil, but it looks cool and my son was happy with it.

I'm happy with the quality of this produce. I've only used it for one project so far but the results were as desired. My only issue was stablizing it during use. I think I've come up with a solution but haven't tested it yet.

I love this little guy. It's quite small but it does it's job. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it had a way to secure to a board or table top.

Wish the surface area was a bit bigger on the top, but pretty much exactly as expected. Quite the pretty little anvil.

Expected it to be slightly bigger... And with a base to support to a bench... Nice but slightly too small.
