An erotic drama written and produced by Zalman King. Billy Zane stars as the gardener who with his girlfriend seduces one of his clients, a bored frustrated housewife, Joan Severance. Review: Five Stars - None. Review: Steamy thriller but mind your ears - When the name Zalman King is attached to a film then it is pretty certain what you are going to get. This film is no exception, with Billy Zane, Joan Severance and May Karasun sharing some very steamy, in more ways than one, moments. There were a couple of problems for me with this film; the ridiculous dramatics by Irene (Joan Severance) when her memories from an old traumatic experience come to the fore; and the incessant flashbacks with banging drums which punctuated the film. Those banging drums were made worse by having to increase the volume to hear the whispering and mumbling dialogue and then having the drums go full tilt. It should be said that Misses Severance and Karasun getting naked did compensate somewhat - perhaps that is what Zalman King films are all about. I have seen the NTSC Region 1 and the Australian Region 4 DVDs. The Australian DVD is PAL so it may play on UK players but do not take that as a certainty. However, the better of the discs is the Region 1 with a proper widescreen picture despite the cover saying 1.33:1 Full Screen. Image quality is very good and there is only English audio with no subtitles. Run time is 90 minutes. Extras on the disc are a TV Promo and a picture gallery. The Australian disc is full screen 1.33:1 and English audio with no subtitles. There are no extras.

Eroticism at Some of its Best
I had watched Lake Consequence severals years ago and promised myself to purchase a copy when the priority allowed - I'm glad I did as it's one of the most erotic films I've seen - well-put-together with very good actors, interesting scene shoots, and the timing of the sexual tease was well-placed. I'd recommend this for both men and women.

One of the worst movies ever made. Don't waste your time. The acting was horrible, the story was nonsensical, the actions of the characters were completely unbelievable, and in the end there was nothing morally of socially redeeming about this movie.

Lake Consequence
Lake Consequence is a classic Zalman King production-beautiful bodies, offbeat scenery, jazzy score, and little if any "plot" to speak of. If you enjoy this kind of film-and I do-then Lake Consequence is for you.
