An in dept but very clean and easy to read guide of diagnostic imaging of Exotic Pet species. Not only images, but also explanations, published data and tables, for performing and interpreting radiography, ultrasound, CT and MRI in these species. A must for university colleges of veterinary medicine and for any Veterinary center which deals with Exotic pets to a referral level.

Large detailed images
Great book - large with colorful detailed pictures. Divided up in sections so its easy to find information. Color maps of normals. This book was recommended to me by boarded veterinary radiologists. It has also been helpful when showing films to clients so they can compare normal to abnormal.

Book review in: Acta Veterinaria Hungarica by Viktor Molnár
Conventional radiographic and sonographic techniques have been used routinely by veterinary specialists for decades. The diagnostics of the almost symptomless diseases of exotic pets require in general at least one, but sometimes multiple, imaging methods. This brand new atlas is a beautiful compilation of the big variety of imaging techniques to be used in birds, small mammals and reptiles. The four editors and the 13 authors mainly originating from Germany intended to present a comprehensive source of available information about this issue for graduate and postgraduate students, and especially practitioners who regularly examine and treat exotic pets in their clinic. And they have succeed in doing so. [...] Without doubt there are quite big differences in the equipment of veterinary clinics based in Leipzig, Munich, Louisiana or even Budapest. To find the correct diagnioses with the help of diagnostic imaging techniques needs ,just' practice, attention and documentation. [...] In this book you can find everything about diagnostic imaging used in the everyday clinical practice as well as scientific research, the latter predicting our possibilities for the next about 10 to 15 years.

Fantastic book
As a small animal vet seeing a fair number of exotic pets, I find this book fantastically useful. Not only are there normal images and values for a range of species but there is a good coverage of pathology too. Yes, it's expensive and yes, it's a big, heavy book but it is a superb reference volume with many good quality images. I'd really recommend it.
