I have used Niterider Lumina's since I bought the original 600 back in 2011. When it died last year from me accidentally forcing the USB in upside down (my fault, 100%), I decided to start upgrading. I got the 1800 Boost for my handlebars and the Micro 650 for my helmet. The helmet mount still works the same after 12 years, but the handlebar mount has been updated to accommodate 35mm bars. Both of these lights have been flawless, and I expect another solid 10 years out of them. I also have a 150 lumen walmart light for personal carry that I have had for a few years and it finally gave out on me. I decided to upgrade it to an actual decent light, and this 1000 lumen bike light is currently on sale for less than $50 bucks!! That is a steal my friends. Not only did I get a great light for around the house, but I got a light that is compatible with pretty much every other mountain bike rider's mounting system if anyone needs a spare. It fits comfortably in my hands, recharges quickly, battery lasts forever (21 hours on walk mode), and gets super bright if I need it to be. The ONLY downside is the heatsinks run the length of the light on both sides. If you run it on bright mode for an extended amount of time, they will get hot. Usually they are supposed to be ran on a bike and the wind will cool them down, but if you are just carrying them in your hand make sure you wear gloves. Luckily they cool down quickly once turned off, or if the brightness is turned back down.

Thus is 2nd Lumina light. I LOVE this brand. I use it as a helmet light for night cycling. It illuminates road hazards well. Its mount makes it easy to snap in and out quickly and easily. NOTE: It arrives in lock mode. I almost returned it because the light wouldn't come on. Then recalled that its shipped in locking mode. Held for 7 seconds and the light came on. My evening rides can last 3 hours. Never once has this brand dies on a ride. You won't be disappointed with this light.

Good light, reasonable price however the light output and pattern isn’t quite as bright as 1000 advertised lumens.

Purchased this as Used-Mint. Light had no charge in it and won't take a charge. I've used NiteRider lights for 30 years, this light was no good when it was sold. If you look at their reviews they have a very high rating...because they pass the buck and say on every bad review, which they have plenty of, that is was sold through Amazon so sorry. Total crap.

I love these lights. I had to order another one because I was too over-confident in how well it would stay on my bike while hitched to the back of my car. I wouldn't be surprised if it's still functional and charged somewhere on the side of the road. On low brightness will probably last for at least 6 hours but I never let mine run out of juice. Low brightness is usually enough light for most riding I do but if I were on gravel/dirt roads or a trail you'd probably want to use at least the medium setting. Charges fast and never had a problem riding in rain. The clamp doesn't always snug onto the handlebar as well as I'd like so I just wrapped a scrap piece of handlebar tape around the bar where I wanted the clamp so it has a bigger surface to clamp onto. Works great!

So far my NiteRider Lumina 1000 is doing exactly what I need it to do ... illuminate the pitch black bike paths for my late evening bike rides. Being pitch black, I'm able to use the lowest and medium settings but can easily switch to the high setting when I’m cruising through town. In my bike bag I carry a NiteRider 850 as a backup, and swap it out with the Lumina 1000 when the low power light comes on. I’m hoping that this battery care will extend the life of the Lumina 1000, and then for my NiteRider 850 also. I also use my 850 around the house as a high powered flashlight and then I put it in my car’s glove box when driving at night in case I need it in an emergency situation since it’s a very bright and also can be used as an emergency flasher. Yup, pretty handy dandy.

The best part of this light is the beam pattern. The vertical diffusers in the lens, do a good job of spreading the beam horizontally for an evenly illuminated viewing area this really helps when picking the best riding lines on the trails. The second best feature of this light is the barclamp, which will grip your bar well and the light will be pointed where you want it. This solid aluminum barclamp is much better than Niterider's rubber barclamp offered on other models - buy this one unless you are planning on using a helmut mount. Even though this is an older design, the product stands up well against(usually better than) current models and it is more affordably priced. For a 2 hour ride, expect to use the medium or low setting, which is enough, but 2 lights would be better still. I use the 1000 Lumina boost on my helmut and the 1800 lumina on my bars and this provides excellent lighting - good enough for all but the most discerning. New riders to the night scene would be advised to start with one for the helmut and one for the bars (buy the helmut mount) and add a brighter unit if you feel it is justified over time.

The light is compact, solid, weather proof for ordinary conditions, easy to fix to the bike and a delight to use. Clearly designed by a cycling professional!

Just stopped charging and died after 18 months really poor

Excelente calidad, llego muy rapido. Sin duda lo recomiendo ampliamente!!

Received this light in June 2019 and used it less then a dozen times over the rest of winter and it worked fine. Went to charge to use it again but will not take a charge.... but after contacting the manufacturer they have arranged for a replacement, you can't ask for more then that.
