I do a lot of distance driving, and I also recently had to take a couple of cross continental flights. All of the sitting usually leaves my body in so much pain, I had come to dread travel and even vacations. On normal seats, the pain radiates out of my gluteal muscles and down my legs, and ultimately up through my back and shoulders within a couple of hours. By the time I get where I'm going, I could cry because the pain is so bad, and as a result I end up in a bad mood. Not a great way to arrive at your destination! This pillow works so great, that even though I don't love all the sitting, travel has become virtually pain-free. I was astonished to get out of my car and off the plane with no pain at all! Maybe a little stiff from the confinement, but the difference in my energy level and mood was OUTSTANDING. I even bought one for my brother when I realized he had similar pain from long drives as well. I will say that when I use it in the car, I feel like it boosts me up really high (my brother said the same thing), but I think over time the cushion has compressed, or maybe I just don't notice the height difference because I feel so hood. You will have to adjust your mirrors and your seat, and it takes a little getting used to, but it's worth the effort.

It did help for the not one but - yes - two family members who needed it. However, they only were allowed to use it for a brief time before the cat took it over. It is now a permanent cat bed. My family members using it were not bothered enough to wrastle it free from the slightly feral calico leering at them, and I'm not sure whether that means the product wasn't worth fighting for, or whether their fear of her power to lie on their faces at night and smother them in their sleep outweighed their pain tolerance or concern for their recovery. The larger male cat attempted to follow suit, noticing how much she enjoyed it by the volume and timbre of her self-satisfied purring. However, at 15 lbs and 14" long (approximately twice her size), he didn't fit and could only content himself with the cold comfort of using it as a pillow for his gigantic head. 4 stars, at very least, for drawing attention to the complicated power dynamic in our household. 4 stars also because it was very comfortable - I used it, just to mix up seating choices for a change, before it became coated in mottled brown & gray fur. If ever anyone gets the need and/or courage to reclaim it from her, the fur should come right off. It seems pretty turn-key to clean, so that's a nice feature. And also, it makes a great bed if your cats are uncomfortable with their existing surfaces, or just spoiled and never satisfied until they have more things that belong to only them. Maybe it should be 5 stars, but I can't really say because it barely got used for its advertised purpose before nature intervened.

I read a few reviews for this pillow stating that it helped tailbone pain. I have absolutely no idea how it would have done that! I have Coccydynia (which more or less means chronic tailbone pain) and this pillow really REALLY hurt me. Sitting on this felt like it put MORE pressure on my tailbone, which is pretty much exactly what it was doing. I had a feeling I should have gone with one of the coccyx cushions, but figured I would give this a try first. A coccyx cushion has a V-shaped cutout on the back which allows the tailbone to "float" with no pressure on it at all. How does this donut shaped pillow NOT put pressure on the tailbone?? Next time I will trust my instincts. This is being returned tomorrow. As for the overall quality of the product, it seemed ok, for the price. Which is why I gave it a neutral 3 star rating. It was very firm, which I personally consider to be a good thing, as it doesn't just flatten into nothingness the moment you sit on it.

I bought this to use on my work chair to help with hemorrhoid discomfort. I have since learned from my colorectal surgery office that doughnut pillows are NOT recommended for hemorrhoid relief. (See note below.) That's more of a long term issue though, and this pillow was horrid to sit on for even short periods of time. I did not get through a full day of sitting on this pillow. Its top is all rounded off with no ergonomic contouring to support your hips or legs. The foam is very stiff and doesn't warm up to the body, so you just constantly feel like you're perching on top of a ridge of foam. I actually had new aches in my hips and legs and back after a few hours with this pillow. I tried to rearrange the pillow and myself several times with no success. I have kept the cushion in my office for the last few months and tried it again and again, each with the same result. I thought doughnut pillows were the best support for hemorrhoids, but apparently that's the opposite of the truth. This is info from my colorectal surgeon, backed up with studies I found. Sitting on a doughnut pillow is like extended sitting on the toilet- it puts added pressure on the hemorrhoids and exacerbates issues. It's better instead to find a big soft pillow that supports your entire bottom evenly. But even if you need a doughnut pillow for other reasons, I would find one with more ergonomic support than this one.

I bought this to take to sewing retreats because they always seem to have hard seats. I was not too sure about it because it is small and not really soft to the touch. I have been really happy with how well it works and have been using it in my car as well. It's not perfect for relief of pain, but is convenient and costs less than bigger options(so convenient to take with me and fits into a tote bag).

I purchased this for someone else and the only thing I can say is they thought it was quite firm but comfortable.

I having a job that makes me sit for hours whole day, and being a hemorrhoids patients. this cushion has helped me a lot relieve my pain which was unbearable. I have used this cushion on a 13 hour long drive and it was totally worth it. the shape of the cushion may change after usage but it get back to original shape as soon as you leave it for a while. The cover fabric material is soft and comfortable too. Highly recommend to people who do jobs like me and who do a lot of highway driving.

I wish I didn’t need this , but due to a tail bone injury I could need it for life . The price is much less then in health stores, now I have one on every chair

its probably better than most because it's thicker a nd makes it easier for the wheel chair user to get in and out.4 stars might be a bit harsh but even this one doesn't retain its comfort indefinitely.
