Excellent Power Conditioner! Worth the Cost!
I bought this power conditioner as a part of a larger project to replace/upgrade aging equipment. In this case, I replaced a couple of 35-year-old Adcom ACE-515s that were excellent middle of the road power conditioners in their day. I've found over the years that it's easy to talk yourself into seeing or hearing something that may not in fact be there when you have a new piece of equipment. But here's my report after less than a day of use. BTW, my preamp is an NAD C160, and my power amp is an NAD C-165BEE. Regarding audio, I mostly listen to classical music. I use a Roku Ultra to feed a Sony Bravia 8 TV and I also have a recent Sony Blu-ray player. I definitely see an improvement in video clarity and smoothness. I think I also see something I'm not sure how to describe, and that is more consistency and coherence in the rendition of the color palette of scenes. With regard to audio, I mostly listen to classical music with Youtube and Spotify through the Roku, and a CD player. I also definitely hear an improvement in clarity and in the precision of the soundstage, with all video sources, with audio through the Roku, and with my CD transport (Audiolab 6000CDT) and DAC (Musical Fidelity MX-DAC). It's early days yet, but I think I perceive an enlargement of the soundstage too, in all sources. Lastly, people always mention how their new power conditioner quiets or silences the "background" This certainly proved true for me. I immediately noticed that a small 60 cycle hum that had crept into my system over the years had totally vanished. I also didn't realize that there was indeed other subtle electrical noise that is now gone too, rendering a silent background out of which the reproduced sound emerges vividly. I wish that the eye-of-Sauron power indicator could be dimmed, but alas ... I will resort to tape, as many others have. For the price, it is hard to imagine a better power conditioner. The build is excellent, with a well laid-out back panel that has a dozen electric plugs. While the power conditioner's effects may be somewhat subtle at first, they are real and yield more pleasing and satisfying video and audio. Recommended!

Very pleasantly surprised
I usually hesitate to write reviews immediately after receiving something electronic as the key factor is how something performs and lasts over time. And as I just received received the Furman-15 PF a few days ago, indeed something could go wrong down later. But I am really so surprised at the difference it has made in my audio and video quality - I felt compelled to write something perhaps prematurely. The unit itself is a hefty piece of equipment - all metal casing. Exterior parts appear very solid and well made. In terms of controls there is not much more than an on and off switch and a blue light to indicate power is on. Furman recommends that the user just leave the unit on - as the power draw is small. Plugs in back are labelled for specific uses - such as audio, video, amps etc. They also labeled "switched vs. unswitched." I found this confusing - as I generally think of an unswitched outlet as being "on" regardless of the unit being on or not (such as the outlets that used to be common on receivers.) In fact, none of the outlets have current if unit is "off." The switched or unswitched indicates which ones could be used with a remote or not. In any event, I have decided to leave the Furman "on" as they recommend - so the issue is really moot. Outlets on the back are easy to access, and pretty well spaced - although if you have more than a couple of "wall warts" you might lose the use of an outlet or two. For my audio equipment - I was really not expecting too much based on the mixed reviews of other about the effect on audio. On my system, however, the difference was immediately noticeable and positive. As others have said, the background is now dead quiet. I listen to classical music mostly and on solo piano - there is sharpness and clarity at the highest and lowest ends of the scale that were just not there before. This is true of both CDs and LPs. I have two systems running on it - one is mostly tube/analog, the other is all digital. My equipment is pretty middle of the road - a Jolida 502 tube amp, NAD C320 Bee amp, Rega & Bellari phono amps, Sota Moonbeam turntable, Grado Sonata cartridge, Oppo CD/DVD player, vintage Klipsch Heresy and Dynaco A-25 speakers. They have always sounded good - but once connected into the Furman, it was like all of my equipment had a major tune up - and were now running perfectly for the first time. On the video, my experience similar to what others have said. Blacks have become much deeper, which gives everything a much sharper contrast and detailed look. For the first time - the FIOS TV looked as clear as broadcast digital or DVDs. DVDs are also sharper too - although the improvement compared to the change in FIOS was much smaller. Will others notice such a big difference? It seems to me that results might differ. In my case, I live in an older home with equally old wiring, and many potential noisy devices on the same circuit as my audio equipment, including dimmers, 'fridge, etc. There is not much I can do about that short of doing a lot of house rewiring. This might not be the case in a newer home or where circuits are dedicated to the audio-visual equipment (Radio and phonographs were the only a-v equipment when my home was built!) So in my house, the Furman helped filter out this noise. As for protection against surges, voltage drops, etc. - time will tell how that works. In the few days I have had the unit, it is really impossible to judge the Furman's effectiveness on this. At this point, however, I could not be happier and I'm still pleasantly surprised at the improved audio and video performance.

Exceeds expectations
A few years ago, my audio consultant told me that I needed a power conditioner and that I would hear the difference that it made in my audio system. I was skeptical then, and I was still skeptical when I revisited the concept recently. My audio/video system has a total of 14 (!) devices that needed power, and I was looking for a way to clean up my tangled mess of power cords. I was also attracted by the idea of having more sophisticated (and hopefully reliable) surge protection. Eventually, I decided that it would be worth the investment if only to accomplish these rather routine tasks. I took the plunge and bought the Furman Elite-15 PF I with no expectations that it would improve the system's sound. The Furman is an impressive piece of hardware, much heavier and more substantial than I had envisioned. Installation was straightforward, although it took a while since it necessarily entailed re-routing numerous cords. Once installed, the Furman ran without making a sound or generating a noticeable amount of heat. So far, so good. The real surprise came when I sat down and listened to my stereo with the Furman in place. I have had my system for quite a while now, and many hours of close listening have made me very familiar with the way that it sounds, especially with specific recordings. So I was very surprised a few minutes into my first listening session when I thought that I noticed that the sound was different. Dynamics were more pronounced. Suggestions of harshness that I had previously perceived in certain parts of certain recordings seemed to have vanished. Everything sounded a little bit quicker, clearer, and cleaner. Subsequent sessions have reinforced these initial impressions, and I begrudgingly have to admit that I think that my stereo sounds perceptibly better with the Furman than without it. I should note that my house was built in 1960 and has an odd layout, meaning that the wiring is old and the wiring scheme is somewhat suspect. If you live in a relatively new house with more logical wiring, you may not hear any difference in your system. It's also possible that I have convinced myself that I'm hearing something that isn't there, although I am so cynical about miracle cures like power conditioners that I do not believe that to be the case. Either way, this is a nifty piece of equipment that definitely seems to perform as advertised. I have no use for the pull-out LED light tubes on the front, but otherwise this is a no-nonsense, serious piece of hardware that is worth your consideration.

Worthwhile
Fanrastic unit that eased organizing the setup of a stereo . Noise was eliminated and clarity of signal noticeably improved . With great build quality this unit is highly recommended!

Impressed!
I was very surprised at the positive difference my Furman Elite 15 Pfi has made to the sound of my stereo system. Since I got all the major components of my stereo system in place a year ago, I have been tweaking it with upgraded power cables, interconnects, speaker cables and now, a more serious power conditioner. This replaced a Panamax MR4000, which I was happy with. Honestly, when I buy these types of “tweaking upgrades” for my system, I keep my expectations low regarding hearing perceptible improvements in sound quality. It’s more of a peace of mind thing to me…knowing that I have reasonably addressed any areas that would degrade the signal. I have been surprised a few times, however, and this was one of them. The bass immediately became louder, stronger and tighter, and there was an increase in clarity throughout the spectrum—I would say a 5 – 10% improvement. The music seems a bit more vibrant and alive. I heard the improvements immediately and it was not subtle. I was very surprised, to say the least. I had never been able to hear static or any kind of noise coming from my system under any circumstance, so I thought the quality of my household power was OK. Guess I assumed wrong. Of course YMMV as far as perceptible sound quality improvements are concerned, but I strongly recommend the Furman Elite Pfi.

Poor Shipping and Handling
The product itself is great, with noticeable clarity in sound and video. The problem that I have is the handling and shipping of the device. It arrived in a box within a box. After I opened the outer Amazon box, I immediately noticed that the manufacturer's box had a corner torn open, and the box looked as if it had been exposed to moisture. I tried to be optimistic and give it a shot, because the line conditioner itself looked fine. However, whatever force that caused the box to tear apparently was great enough to cause internal damage to the device. I noticed after a few days that my tv which was plugged into it, would inadvertently turn off then back on. After seeing this happen a couple of times on different days, I figured the line conditioner was faulty. I returned it for a refund. This type of poor handling of sensitive electronic equipment is inexcusable! I'm reluctant to buy anymore such equipment from Amazon. They may be the leading e-tailor in the world, but they're not the only one! I took my business elsewhere to replace this unit.

Big Improvement for My Component System!
I ordered this Furman Power Conditioner after a lot of careful Research. My old Monster Power Center bit the dust last fall after being plugged in for 4 years. A lightning storm fried it. To its credit, it did do its job, saving my expensive system. Upon calling Monster Cable they said it was Out of Warranty. They also said it was non-Repairable, which was a shock to me since it cost almost $800 new! They offered to have me ship( at my own expense) the unit to them and they would then give me a 20% discount on a new one! No thanks..hmm wonder what they do with it? So a major factor in choosing a new one, was that it Have a good, solid warranty and also be repairable. Everybody I talked to Recommended the Furman. Its professional grade equipment and works really well. Audio Advisor sells a lot of them, but they were temporairly out of stock, so here came this one from Home Electronics, an Amazon Partner. I ordered the unit on Friday and it was on my doorstep the next Tuesday. Unpacking it, I took note of the careful way it was packed, the very nice instruction manual, and the build quality of the unit. I plugged it in a dedicated wall socket( really best if you can swing one these). I left it on for a couple of days and then plugged all my components into it. WoW! Double WOW! The first thing I noticed was the absolute Dead silence in quiet musical passages. Dead noise level, like a tomb! In between the Notes, nothing...no hiss, no background noise, nothing. For the first time, my stereo had a sound Stage! ( Read HP in the Absolute Sound non-believers!) The crescendos were very powerful, even my Sub woofer seemed much better. The High freq. were much, much better, crystal clear with beautiful delineation!, Bass very powerful...Overall on Vocals the voice was just floating in space, so natural and with no distortion on peaks. The LIFT technology that Furman uses in this unit will apparently make 45 Peak amps available to your system, although Furman says in actual use most amps only draw a few amps. Furman says the unit can remain plugged in and by itself draws very little current. The unit when on feels cool to the touch, no warm spots anywhere. Its been plugged in for 4 days and the sound continues to improve. I am very pleased with this unit, it seems to do all that the MFG promises and more. The build quality is exceptional, and best of all it emits a cool blue light in a dark room. And it comes with a 3 Year Warranty. I am thinking of getting one for my Flat screen, its that good. I upgrade components in my system each year and this Power Conditioner has by itself made the most dramatic improvement yet! Throw out that old Cheap Surge protector and get one these soon! You won't be sorry.

Nice Protection
I got this for better protection from voltage swings and not for sonic improvements, but I actually think it sounds a tiny bit better than it did before. I think the base and imaging relative to the base is better. Of course, it all could be between my ears but either way I am happy.
