I bought this to use on the plane, but it's more useful at home. The magnet is strong. Since it can be configured in different ways I use it as a phone stand vertical or horizontal without clipping it to the table. I use it as a handle instead of holding onto the edges of phone. It's not compact and is heavy to carry in my handbag. It was a little stiff at first, so I recommend just move it slowly to learn the different positions. Didn't need to clip it to airplane tray since there was a shelf, but it was tricky when I tried to. It was hard to attach to the tray while it was closed. It does attach to table at home but i don't use it that way. I am ordering one for my husband.

I loved using this while on the plane. It was small and easy to pack in my carry on. I know the planes tend to have a space for you to put your phone, but this allows for more flexibility to be able to situate your device your way. The adjustability is easy and smooth, as you hear it click when you turn the ring to adjust the grip of the attachment. I have a case with a magnet, so it held my phone really well, I was able to watch my movies before we took off! As a new traveler, I highly recommend you have one of these!

Compared with the spring loaded type, it doesn’t open as far, but the trade off is that it’s more secure.

I didn't like so I returned it... magnet ok but the stand itself wasn't useful.

Bought it to use on flights. Depending on the aircraft model it will fit in nicely to different areas of the tray. It is easy to adjust the grip thickness. Happy with the color and sturdiness. It holds the weight of phone with no problem.

I absolutely love this magnetic phone holder! I have many different kinds, including similar ones like this with a spring loaded clamp. But I much prefer this one where you dial in the tightness to whatever you’re clamping it to. So impressed with the function and the strong magnetic hold that I ordered a couple more. I have one at the bedside, clamped to the kitchen table, and even use one outside clamped to a patio chair.
