Fieldpiece SMAN360 3-Port Digital Manifold with Micron Gauge

I have had this product 10 years works great no problem but unfortunately the housing has started to get very brittle and falling apart.

Purchased this to replace my other Fieldpiece SMAN3. This updated model has better interface. Digital gauges with auto micron gauge insure you have pulled a deep vacume. The sub cooling readings provided with the clamp on temp gauges is the only method to accurately charge r410a. One or two negatives: gauge lcd screen is susceptible to permanent damage if dropped or something hits it. This happened to my first one. I bought a case but it won't fit unless you disconnect the hoses every time you want to put it up. Also the plastic temperature clamps easily break at the pivots and render them useless. For a tool that's used for field service and costs almost $500 it is no way rugged enough.

The only thing these gauges are missing is quite obvious. Think Fieldpiece can find room for a multi-meter on here? Also, I would love to see a set of digital gauges with a digital representation of the analog needles. I have held off on this purchase because I am so accustomed to the balanced needles. Either way this is a good rig, just ALOT of room for improvement.

I'm a automotive hobbyist but for a living I'm a Metrologist (science of measurement). I work with precision test and measurement equipment in the aerospace industry every day. The build quality of this instrument caught my eye. After purchasing this instrument, I ran this through various pressure, vacuum and temperature tests in the lab using a Fluke 1560 Thermometer Readout/PRT and a DH Instruments pressure/Vac calibrator and it was well within its published specifications on all parameters. I honestly didn't think the instrument would perform this well right out of the box without calibration. The manifold valves operate very smoothly and feel to be of great quality.I would highly recommend this to any serious tech and or a techie/hobbyist like myself. You will not be disappointed.

The SMAN360 has a proven track record and comes from a lineage of solid build manifolds used by professionals. I especially like the large display, with all the information you need at a single glance so no swapping back and forth to get what you want. It's super easy to use and works with virtually any refrigerant type. I use this for both HCAV and auto AC work.

Used for just about 2 years and now screen is only showing all number eights. Out of warranty now and will cost according to FP at least 150$. That's half the cost of a new one. BTW I took good care of it, no drops,no getting g it wet, put it in the padded soft case majority of the time. Think Im getting a sporlan smart tool cuz it seems to be more rugged.

I only purchased this here because of price. Unfortunately one of the temperature clamps does not work as device keeps telling me there is no connection with one of two clamps. Otherwise device itself works just fine.

This instrument is all that a hardcore handyman needs to become his own capable a/c repairman. I knew virtually nothing about a/c systems... this instrument singlehandedly showed me the way to salvation without any outside help. Easy to understand instructions and explanations; this device is extremely intuitive to operate. I wish I would have done this a long time ago. I am totally impressed..... and, it is fun to use; makes you feel like you are in control of the bridge on the starship Enterprise. Its never too late to start. I marked the positive sides of the K-plugs red so they can be plugged in quickly without error; otherwise you have to look closely in bright light to see the pin size or polarity markings. This fine instrument deserves a hard case to protect it; it comes with a cloth bag that is really a "joke." Be very careful where you store it so it won't get broken. I found an old lap top case that is way better protection than what comes with this tool. It needs protection.

Amazing tool

Do Not Buy Here Let me start out by saying the gauges work great, until I was caught on a roof when it started raining. My Gauges were shot ( constant vacuum on high side with no pressure and low side maintaining 168 psi with no pressure). This happens and I'm not blaming fieldpiece. My problem was trying to get warranty on these gauges because Amazon is not an authorized dealer. Amazon is a 3rd party purchaser and not an authorized fieldpiece dealer and because of this warranty is void. Buy the gauges... just not from Amazon is my advice.

Well packaged. Fast shipping and not a bad price. Takes all the guess work out of heat pump installs. I love it.
