Good, solid, practical stand.
I searched around for other Switch stands because in the reviews for this one, it was suggested that there was no padding to protect the system from rubbing against the plastic or slipping on whatever surface it was on. I was also worried that the stand would be unstable because it was high up in the air, or that the notches could potentially slip, causing the Switch to slam onto the table backwards. Fortunately, as the other switch stand options had other problems or lacked quality, I decided to chance this one. Pleasantly, none of the problems I listed above were an issue with this product. The area that cradles the Switch have a few small pads keeping them from scratching the Switch, and adding friction, while two pegs keep the Switch in place. The notches seem to do their job and keep the stand upright, and there are additional pads on the bottom to keep the stand from sliding around on the table. I tried tapping the side of the Switch to test how stable it was and it seems at least as stable as the Switch is while using its kickstand, if not more. You shouldn't have to worry about small bumps while playing. The stand overall is pretty stable and gentle with the Switch and is great for playing while charging via the USB port when not using the Switch's dock, and the compact profile and cheap price are a nice bonus.

HORI Compact Playstand for Nintendo Switch Review
The HORI Compact Playstand for the Nintendo Switch is adjustable to 30, 50 and 60 degree angles; it has two dowels that fit securely into slots on the bottom of the Nintendo Switch console to prevent it from sliding once placed on the stand. Using the Switch on the adjustable playstand is certainly an upgrade over the built-it kickstand on the backside, on top of allowing the system to be charged while gaming, the raised height is also a more ergonomic setup and rubber placements around the stand keep your Switch from accidentally being scratched while in use—It also has small rubber feet on the bottom for stability. It folds up easily and snaps securely shut for transportation; it can be used as a stand for other portable systems(3DS, PS Vita), phones or small enough tablets as well. The dimensions of the unit are 6.4 inches long, 0.7 inches thick, 3.5 inches wide and weighs about 6 ounces. For me, It's much more enjoyable playing my Switch with this setup than using the built-in kickstand. While I'm waiting for work to process at my PC, It's nice having my Switch charged up and ready to go on the stand. The build quality is great for an adjustable piece of plastic and at only $12.99, what's not to like?

Great holder!
Works as well as expected! I needed this so I don't break my neck trying to play with my handheld controllers! I prefer the xbox style controllers so this paired perfect with that. I've had the animal crossing one for years and it's still in perfect shape!

VERY nice look, and works well
The play stand has such a sleek nice look, and feel to the product. I had no issues with it holding my Nintendo. It's portable, looks very nice, isn't cheap quality, and feels great. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to actually have a nice stand for when playing on their switch.

Want the option of being able to charge in kickstand mode? This is a highly recommended accessory to have.
I was in the market for something portable to hold my Switch when it's in tabletop mode. I'm sure you've heard of the built-in kickstand; it does the job, but you can't adjust the angle *and* you cannot charge the Switch while the kickstand is used. This stand from HORI not only lets you charge the Switch while using it but also lets you adjust the angle not 1, not 2, but *3* different ways. When flat, you simply (and gently) pop the back up and place the stand's easel at the desired angle. You just let it rest on one of the three stops; gravity takes care of the rest. You can then pull the shelf down. Reverse the process to fold the stand up for portability. The shelf where the Switch rests, the back where the Switch rests upon and the bottom of the stand are all rubberized, so there aren't any fears of damage of slippage. (Make sure you keep the bottom of the stand's feet clean.) There are two pegs on the shelf so that the Switch rests on them for added stability like it does in the Switch dock. (Must...resist...Switch...update joke...) There are corresponding openings on the back so that the Switch's intakes aren't blocked. The system can breathe perfectly. The stand, though it feels quite light, is very sturdy with the Switch resting on it. (Be sure to apply some leverage while adjusting the angle while the Switch is on the stand; hold the Switch with one hand while adjusting the easel on the back.) While testing, I couldn't push the Switch around or tip it while it was on the stand at any angle. Be careful while moving the stand with the Switch on it; the easel simply rests on the stop. When lifted from the front, the whole thing can collapse if you don't support the easel with your hand. My only gripes? You *can* put the Switch in portrait orientation but you won't have the stability provided like in landscape orientation, plus one of the intakes isn't completely open in portrait unless you scoot the Switch to the side a bit. (I mention this because one of the (forthcoming) games for the Switch, Namco Museum, will let you play in portrait orientation, which will more closely mirror the experience of the original arcade games. It's still pretty hard to push or tip the Switch around while in portrait, however. Almost needless to say (but still worth mentioning, for those who care) is that the product is made in China. All in all, highly recommended for those looking to go mobile and be able to charge while in kickstand mode.

Nice little stand.
Nice little stand. Use it all the time. The only reasons I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because I wish it had one more position that was almost totally upright. If I’m playing in my recliner I can’t kick back to far because the screen is angled just a bit too far. And I wish each position could kind of lock in more. If the support gets tapped when the stand is being repositioned the stand can drop flat. But I still love the stand. I love that it goes flat when not in use. It small and feather weight. And the design is nice looking. Most important it lets you charge while playing. Which is why I got it. If you just use the stand on the back of the Switch you can’t plug in the power cord. Poor design on Nintendo’s part.

A simple, yet effective portable Nintendo Switch stand
In looking for a good stand for my Nintendo Switch to play some of the vertically oriented arcade games from the excellent NAMCO MUSEUM, I came across the HORI Compact Playstand. Superficially, it seemed to tick all the necessary boxes: performance, price, and compactness. In practice, it definitely ticked all those boxes. The foldable stand can prop up the Switch at 30, 50, and 60 degree angles. When the Switch is placed horizontally like you would in any other dock, you can still charge the console without issue since the bottom port is fully accessible. While you can of course just use the cable from the official dock to charge the Switch in this stand, the Cable Matters USB-C cable is inexpensive and has worked well for me so that I never have to disturb my primary dock setup. While I admit my primary use case is rather specific, I definitely anticipate using this stand for other Switch games. It's easy to fold and store, and is inexpensive enough not to worry about. It's definitely recommended if you need a portable stand that can also accommodate your Switch in vertical mode. Pluses: - Functional - Compact - Inexpensive Minuses: - None! Summary: A simple, yet effective portable Nintendo Switch stand.

Hält was es verspricht

Hori Mario pad
Nice design for a Nintendo Switch. Handy if the TV is occupied and kids want to play together from the small screen. It is a great solution. Not to sturdy plastic, but functional.

Really nice for tabletop players.
I don't have an external monitor at the moment, so I just use tabletop mode and a Pro Controller. And this Hori Playstand really makes this set-up really nice to use. What I really like about this case is the security of it. There are 4 rubber pads just for the Switch itself, and 4 more rubber pads for the base of the stand. Additionally, there is a little rectangular nib on where you'd place your Switch, so it aligns perfectly center to the stand. Nice. In previous revisions of this stand, 2 plastic nibs aligned with the bottom of the Switch. But that doesn't exist in the current revision. The stand has 3 angles, which may seem a bit restrictive if you're used to tablet stands with more angles or infinite adjustability. But due to the increased height of the stand, I find that viewing angles were sufficient. While portable and folds compactly for easy storage, I do find that it takes up significantly more space than most table stands out there. But! The stability is worth it! (Extra tid-bit: While I don't charge my Switch while playing table-top, you can wire up the charger pretty easily with this stand. That's something that not all tablet stands support. Finally, what makes this Switch stand great is that it has cutouts for the fan exhaust for the Switch. A lot of tablet stands block a portion of this vent, and it's great that Hori thought of this!)
