Highly recommend Vanish Crystal White. This 1.41KG tub is the most economical size to buy too!
I love this Vanish for whites! It makes dull greyish looking clothes white again. I even washed a fluffy white rug which had marks on it. First I soaked it with some Vanish in a bucket for a while, then I put it in the washing machine with a scoop of Vanish and it came out lovely and clean, like new again! This 1.41KG is the most economical size to buy too, and it's a great price from Amazon. Highly recommended.

I either use vanish pink tub powder coloured clothing or this white vanish stain remover in all my white items laundry washes....I find it extremely effective for my white clothing especially if I use either persil liquid or aerial liquid with it....the laundry liquid are meant to back up the whitener powder but I've never tried it without laundry liquid.....but probably would work well on its own if you put extra scoops in or not......in every whites wash I put 4 scoops of whitening vanish powder and 4 scoops of pink tub vanish stain remover both together in the drum.... I believe that would wash the clothing if I didn't use any detergents but I might try it and add some comfort liquid into the final rinse just to test it's cleaning ability on its own with 4 pink tub powder and this whitening powder also 4 scoops....but don't hold you're breath....it maybe a long way off or if I forget to buy persil laundry liquid or aerial laundry liquid and ive ran out....id deffo try it then and write another review to state my results.....whitening vanish powder is a million times better to keep your clothing proper white and not grey white than any of the cheaper whitening powders....ive tried many of them trying to save money but all my whites were dull and some of them gave me a rash on my arms and legs.......I looked at a long list of pricing on amazon for all the vanish whitening tubs noting how much they cost and how much powder was actually in each tub disregarding the tub size but checking the weights.....after an exhaustive search I found this whitening powder £7.20 for a tub of 1.41 kilogram which is virtually 1 and a half kilograms.....I believe it's the cheapest quality vanish whitening stain remover on amazon subscribe and save listing's....it was £8 without subscribe and save....a real amazon bargain....if the price goes up more than a few quid I'll look for another cheaper listing for vanish whitening stain remover....I'm very pleased with myself for looking through to the last few listing's for this product....the pink tub coloured clothing stain remover was also £8 for 1.41kilograms and £7.20 for subscribe and save orders....practically 1 and half kilograms per tub....maybe missing one scoop....and that's all approximately

STOCKED UP
A household staple - good to be able to stock up for a reasonable price. Great for stain removal and general laundry hygiene. This large tub will last me a good while.

4/5 stars - effective whitening powder with consistent results but minor packaging issues
I bought this Vanish Gold Oxi Action Powder specifically to keep white clothes looking fresh, as everyday washing alone was no longer preventing greying on shirts and towels. Used alongside regular detergent, it makes a noticeable difference even on lower temperature washes. Whites come out brighter, and common stains like tea, food splashes, and general dullness lift more effectively, especially when items are soaked before washing. The powder dissolves well and is straightforward to use, whether added directly to the drum or detergent drawer. In longer-term use, it performs consistently and the tub lasts a good while, making it reasonable value when bought on offer. It is particularly effective for restoring older whites rather than just dealing with fresh stains. A few practical drawbacks remain. Some tubs arrive without a scoop, and the container can feel underfilled despite the stated weight. It is also not a substitute for targeted stain treatments on heavy or set-in marks. Overall, it is a dependable laundry staple for maintaining white fabrics.

Works very well, doesn't irritate sensitive skin when used in moderation.
Does the job on dingy whites! I've been using nothing but soap nuts on our laundry for years now, and while this has made laundry a much nicer process (no more itching for my very sensitive skin; no more lugging around chemical liquids or powder; and approximately £7/year on soap nuts instead of detergent for our two-person household) it doesn't do much for whites, as anything 'natural' won't contain optical brighteners. Over time, the white linens have therefore become rather sad and dingy (read: my mother would be disappointed in me), so I bought this product in the hopes of reviving them. My biggest hesitation was the very strong scent of this product as I'm unfortunately very sensitive to laundry powder in general (hence the soap nuts!), and so I was worried this would irritate my skin. I'm very happy to report that it hasn't irritated my skin (even without a second rinse cycle) but it has restored the whites. Note that none of the laundry had any sort of specific set-in stains. It wasn't an instant process, but there was a noticeable difference after the first round (I let the linens soak in the recommended ratio of product for several hours, again as recommended). I've been putting this in every subsequent round of whites (I use a conservative half scoop for a full load) and all my linens are now a pristine, uniform white. It doesn't do particularly well on food stains (to be fair, it was stupid of me to be handling tomato sauce in a white tee...) even over time, as these should probably be treated with stain-specific pre-wash items instead. That being said, it's been a great addition to my laundry routine. The scent does linger on dry clothes, but is unlikely to be something that anyone who uses standard scented laundry products would notice. (It is quite strong in the tub, and moderately strong on dry clothes, for anyone who has a particular sensitivity/aversion to artificially scented products. I don't believe the company make an unscented version of this?) I did accidentally stick a pink towel in with my white towels once and even though the pink towel was several years old and therefore way past the point of staining anything, this product did induce a slight dye release and therefore that batch of white towels got very lightly tinted pink (only noticeable when set against other white towels). I'm hoping that with time this will whiten them up again, but something to be aware of! Also, as it's not always clear, do use this with hot water: while I tend to use a cool laundry cycle on my colours, with this you want a minimum of 50C (I use 50 on clothes, 95 on towels & linens) and a long cycle in order to give it time to work. If you pop it in a quick cold wash, you will not get the results you want.
