how do you charge the battery?

The JTV-59 comes with a wall unit to charge its lithium battery. The battery provides somewhere around 7-8 hours of playing depending on usage. I do not recall exactly, but it roughly takes overnight to fully charge a dead JTV battery (you can get a few hours of play time from an hour charge). When the battery is dead, the standard pickups work, so you only lose use of the computer modeling. I purchased the Line 6 Variax Cabled Power Kit (~$100), which allows the guitar to be powered directly by AC eliminating the need for the battery. The power kit also includes a XPS A/B box.
