Very temperamental.. good luck
When it works it's even fun to use vi found it requires a special thickness, texture, and type of leather to work. But if you find that sweet spot your going to love this.

Save your time and spend $5 more and get a lace cutter that will work
This has to be the worst tool to use, I wouldn’t know because I can’t figure out how to use it. Even if I could I doubt the razor will be kept in place by the ring things they give you. Is it worth the $9-$15 I’ve seen on Amazon…not at all!

Fiddly
I used to run my own leather work/saddlery business, and have probably cut miles of lacing all told. This thing is cheap and fiddly .... it comes with 3 x blades, 2 spare rings but no instructions. The only way I figured out what I needed to do was to look at the photos on the Amazon page. The handle is hard plastic and is not comfortable to hold. Using this to cut a lot of lacing would be tedious. When you work with your hands you want tools that make the job easier, not more difficult. This tool will do it's job at a pinch, and might be good for a beginner but more from a price point perspective. I'll stick to using my professional cutter if I need to make any more lacing.
