It works well
I like that it alerts me to speed limit changes coming up. It is fairly easy to program. I also like that it mentions turning at a stoplight, or stop sign or business. Even though I updated it immediately, the business chosen may no longer be there. Has many more layers per screen than I'm used to but I'll learn. Customer support is good. The device came with icons for gas stations, restaurants, and banks showing up on the map. I couldn't see the roads for the icons! "Chat" customer support to tell me how to delete the icons - twice. I didn't realize I needed to take the web instructions to the car to follow the steps!

Perfect GPS
I purchased this because my new suv did not come with GPS and with all the traveling I do, having one that isn’t on my phone is a big help. The screen on this is very clear (sunlight doesn’t effect the display), it alerts you when there is a traffic camera, the voice is clear, you can customize it plus more. You will not regret buying this. NOTE: I BOUGHT A REFURBISHED MODEL AND IT STILL WORKS AS IF NEW. CAME WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED.

Beware: 'Standard Packaging' = REFURB, NOT NEW, Plus Update: How to Update Maps
Beware: at two points in checking out, this item was described as NEW. It is not. It comes in a box emblazoned with REFURBISHED. This was sold and shipped by Amazon, not a third-party seller. UPDATE: While a Refurb, it appears to work OK. It came with memory 96% full. To update maps at Garmin Express (free with this item), we needed to add SD memory. We purchased a 32 GB micro SD card from Amazon (Kingston) for $5, and update took around 30 minutes. In the update (around 3.7 GB), it moved some data from internal memory to SD card, reducing use of internal memory to 40% of capacity and taking around 4 GB on the SD card. While the Garmin unit being identified as NEW is a problem, it (so far) appears to be a reasonable purchase. Review was increased by one star.

This is a Really Nice GPS
I purchased the refurbished unit and it looks NEW. After downloading the maps update I tried it out. It works great. So far no problems what-so-ever. I didn't want to use my phone as a normal GPS, mainly because I want to keep it as a phone...plus if you are out in the sticks you might loose you cell signal. This is not a normal gripe but you never know what might happen. I'm happy with the purchase.

Nice GPS, great directions, but the live traffic feature is pretty useless.
Works as expected with 2 exceptions: 1) Live traffic feature is useless (Houston area). It only tells me when I'm already in a jam, doesn't tell me how long it will last, and doesn't offer any insight to help avoid traffic. Google maps is eons ahead. 2) For some reason, I cannot get this unit to show me where I have been. That was a very useful feature on my previous Garmin GPS units. I've gone into the menu and turned on the feature, but still no bread-crumbs to show me where I turned last time I was in the area. 6" is a pretty nice size, much better than the 4" units I've had in the past (especially as I get older and the eyes...), and not as spendy as 7 inch units.

Useless
I bought this Garnin for a 10 hour road trip through the west Texas desert. 2 days beforehand I fired it up, charged it, updated the maps online and plotted my trip. Everything seemed to be going fine. After about 45 minutes into my 10 hour trip I got the notification that the battery was low. I plugged in the car charger that came with the device to the Garmin and...nothing. My car charger didn’t work. The damn thing died and I had to use my iPhone for directions for the rest of the 9.5 hours there and then again for 10 hours back. I stopped twice and tried to get a replacement car charger to fit the port on the garmin but neither worked. I wasn’t able to get great directions on my iPhone in the desert and it also ended up costing me an additional $60 in data charges. This was the whole reason I purchased the garmin gps. Needless to say-this device was useless to me and I will be returning. This really put an inconvenience on my trip. :(

Overall, great product considering price
I had many garmin nuvi products before, but this product has better screen and refreshed map interface from prior version. Practical(but contains 49 states map only, if you want more, you may have to insert Micro SD card into the slot) and like new, although it had small scratches in the bezel, showing this is a refurbished product. But I recommend this product. One thing I would like to comment is, you have to charge it using the provided car charger before connect it to your computer or has to wait for a while until the battery being charged in a minimum level through the USB. Otherwise, it may looks like dead one.

Everyone needs one!
I absolutely love my new Garmin. I’ve always used the Waze app on my iPhone. But now my data plan is limited. So I thought I’d try this to save my phones data. I’m so pleased I have. I love the details and clear directions. The diagrams on the screen are very clear. On a fairly long commute, I can to a highway that goes west and south. My amazing Garmin reminded me which one to take and showed a split screen which told me exactly what the sign I’d take looked like. On another occasion I was told to stay in the left lane on the exit. I always wonder what’s the next step. Most Gps only tell you when it’s too late to change lanes, but Garmin gives the next step allowing you enough time to make the necessary changes. She also tells you to turn at the light before you get to it. I think everyone needs one and I can’t believe I’ve found my way without her. Be sure she’s fully charged. I thought it was broken because it wouldn’t come on. It just needed to be plugged in the car and I held the power button 15 seconds and it came back on, only after I fully charged it. Before it was in my car all day with no power.

Ordered this new, it came as refurbished with a nice scratch on the screen. Then we tried for several hours to figure out why the gps didn't want to do Canadian addresses and realized this was the US model, not US and Canada. What a waste of time. We returned it obviously. Great work Amazon.

This device was described as "NEW" and upon receiving I notice that it was a refurbished model. Yes the warranty is still the same as new but the fact is it was desapointing to see that I had been induce in error.
