I love these devices.
First off the negative reviews I get. They are just people that donโt understand technology. Iโm putting these little things to the test. So much so this is my third batch that Iโve bought. And I buy big batches. So Iโm going to max them out.Iโm lucky too I guess because I ordered my third batch and living in SLC I got them 7 days earlier than projected. They do what they are supposed to do. They work amazing and for people who are in to automation these do the trick. Low profile, good range (and Iโll update soon because Iโm gonna put the range to the limits). I use these along with a bunch of Global Cache GC-100โs. I didnโt rate tech support for one reason, there is no need. Either you know what youโre doing or youโre going to be sad because you bought something that you donโt understand. My only issue is that Iโd like a small 3โ male to male iR cable so that I donโt have to put emitter to emitter. I bought a third party version but it was sad and did not work great.

HOW TO SET THIS UP. pls read
Way too much time wasted on what should have been a super simple installation. I was trying to connect my Denon receiver which is in a closed cabinet and be able to control it with the remote. Denon said the IR must be plugged into the back of the receiver. Not in this case. Sewell. Said there is a pairing button. There is not.To set this up you need the Sewell RECEIVER & EMITTER. They both plug into a power source. Receiver is placed where the remote can "see" it. The Emitter is placed where it can deliver the signal to the component. That's it. It's entirely ridiculous that the instructions are so horrible and incomplete to make this process a research project. Never mind that Sewell customer support sent me a troubleshooting video instead of set up instructions, then they ignored all my follow up emails.A simple accurate description on Amazon and shipping the product with instructions would alleviate all this pain.It works, but dang, I'm exhausted

Not nearly as good as a wired repeater,
Did not work well. Only volume control on the receiver worked consistently.

These work Great - Even through heavy wooden cabinet
I initially purchased the transmitter/receiver package, which had one of each. After about a month of use, with no issues, I purchased this one for the other side of my entertainment cabinet. It took a little effort to get the alignment of the extenders to my components to match up, but that was primarily due to me not knowing exactly where the IR receivers were located on my components.A little expensive, but overall great units. Small, unobtrusive, easily hidden. Highly Recommend.

Did not boost
Did not do what I expected. I returned

2nd emitter works right out of the box
This works right out of the box. I have tried several different it extenders with varied success, but this one worked. I'm using 2 emitters and 1 receiver. Now I can point either remote at the receiver, and control 2 different ir units.

Top level product
IMO - product aimed precisely at one target - expanded remote control range. And achieving its goal with no problems.
User
Product works VERY well
Very useful inside house. Engineers that continue to use IR for remote controls should school-up and use RF instead. We avoid IR whenever possible because of it's inherent, severe limitations.
