superb ! It stopped the waste and moved the rats.
A very good product. I added some lead to the step plate, to make it easier for my chickens. It worked perfectly, and has stopped the rats from eating chicken feed. In fact they have all moved away. Highly recommend this product.

Helps keep rats at bay and the food dry
It is super quality and was easy to assemble to an extent. Need to read instructions because I managed to put together and out cockerel is so much lighter than the hens due to his breed so his weight meant it didn’t open when he stood on it. Also be mindful before you fill it up, you can adjust the feeder tray too so although now the cockerel can open it’s actually got such a small amount of food dropping they were not getting enough. Anyway once you have found your right settings and feeding balance then hens are happy and rats are annoyed they have lost their free open buffet! It’s really good value for money and perfect size so you can fill I find every 5 days which is also handy if you are away for a weekend and have no one to feed. Not tried cleaning but it stays really dry even with the torrential rain we have in England so I don’t think I would need to clean much more than shaking any old dusty food out periodically. My only concern would be rats probably weigh as much, if not more, than my cockerel so if they stand and realise it opens I am sure they will be enjoying it too.

Great product but not for large hens
Wanted this to be the answer to my rat problems and if I had a flock of let’s say average sized hybrids or leghorns it would be but anything in the Orpington size bracket is way too big. To be fair the size guide (when you find it) does suggest this so my fault

Great.
We have a mixture of heritage birds in time all learned how to use this great bitter kit

It leaks
I’ve got a few of these but unfortunately this last one leaks so the food gets stuck- I’ve moved on to grandad feeders, who the extra cost

KEEPS FEED FROM SPILLING
Once the hens learn how to use the treadle feeder it is great, no spillage, therefore no vermin. It is easy to clean and also doubles up as somewhere for the girls to roost!!

The green plastic bits are not rat proof
Rats nibbled through the green plastic to get to the feed. Once they had done that it was useless. It needs to be all metal.

Chickens will love this .
Great chicken feeder for the not so stupid birds in your coop. No rats in there.
