A Quiet Night In: A Large family story from the creator of Five Minutes' Peace

There’s nothing to dislike about the large family. A classic children's book with wonderful pictures and nicely sized text make this an easy read. With multiple stories I found this book excellent value for money.

Jill Murphy is such a brilliant author and writer, that she connects with the child and parent into the story. These books are so funny, realistic and relatiable. I have enjoyed reading these books to my son and he has enjoyed them and they are classics. I would recommend anyone to get these fantastic books for your kids and home to read time and time again.

These set of books are brilliant, I swear the mums will appreciate them more than the child since they relate to them so much! The story is about the dad coming home from work on his birthday. The children are meant to be going to bed, but push their luck by wanting a story first. It ends up being too much for the dad! Very well written and beautifully illustrated. I recommend them all.

Lovely stories a great family the best illustrations and my favourite Large tales of all time. I think i love them more than my daughter did - now i am going to share them with the next generation...

I got this for the kids to give to Daddy for his birthday and they were delighted when he read it to them. The only thing my husband said when I asked if he liked it was that it's very realistic. It's about Mr. Large coming home from a hard days work for a quiet birthday night in. The Large children then grab him at the door to have him for themselves - similar theme to Five Minutes Peace Large family book where Mammy suffers their love.

I bought this for my 4 year old grand-daughter and she absolutely loves it. When i was with her for a long w/e i read it every night. I have known the book for a long time but it only clicked reading it to Victoria that the picture on the title page of Mr and Mrs Large is her idea of how the evening will be!!!

Lovely little book! Arrived on time and in good condition. One to read to my little girls over and over again.

Super stories for a wide age range of children.

Great value. Was replacing one of the kids books and found this one that had the book I needed, but also a couple more stories as well. These are all great stories and the perfect length to read before bed.

livre anglophone relié rigide moyen format horizontal ancien (2001/1986 à 1993) regroupant quatre des titres originaux de Jill urphy: Five minutes of peace, All in one piece, A piece of cake & A quiet night in; dans ces épisodes de la série mettant en scène Mr et Mme Trompette et leurs très imaginatifs enfants, les scénarios très courts sont hilarants et tournent toujours autour de l'épuisement des parents submergés par la créativité de leur progéniture mais qui finissent toujours par une chute désarmante et imprévue! une lecture du soir très amusante et qui porte à chaque fois un message simple qui fera réfléchir nos chers bambins; on préférera les versions reliées rigides (comme celle-ci) aux souples qui ne résisteront pas à de nombreuses manipulations; de plus s'il connaissent déjà par coeur les histoire en français (sous forme de répétitives lectures du soir) quel moyen merveilleux de les initier à l'anglais que de les leur lire dans la langue de Shakespeare: cet ouvrage groupé fait parfaitement l'affaire et je vous le recommande!
