These are great if you have issues gripping things. I had originally gotten these as a starter set for my mom. I figured she could start at the 1lb and I could use the 3lb. If you are doing simple work outs these might work but if you get more intense and doing different movements (I follow many HASfit videos on Youtube if you want to get an idea of what I mean) and some of those require you to hold the ends of the weights. The issue is the sand inside shifts to the middle and becomes a distraction and I am constantly shifting the sand around. The quality seems fine for the short time I've had them. I've checked the weights and they seem accurate. Great for very beginner, injury, elderly but otherwise I recommend traditional kind.
