Good sound radio purchase!
Over six decades I have had many different makes of radio. I recently was awarded an Amazon £50 gift voucher upon signing up with a new telecom and broadband provider. With or without my voucher it is worthy purchase The DAB/DAB+ Azatom Spitafields 2 radio ranks highly in my estimation. It has excellent quality and is reasonably priced. It has many nice touches for example the sound equalizer which is of use depending on whether you are listening to news, classical music or changing channel to a hard rock stations. The white leatherette material with which the case is covered is quite classy, the colour of the cabinet is easy on the eyes and the buttons are responsive once you have become accustomed to them. Versatility -There is a remote control which further extends the radio's versatility whilst the display is clear and informative. The power source and charger is one that is frequently used on such devices. All in all it is a good radio.

Superb little radio
I bought this to replace an ageing Pure bedroom radio which struggled to find stations sometimes. I looked for some time before deciding on this Azatom and am so glad I did. Firstly it is aesthetically pleasing and I was able to set the 6 preset buttons without reference to the manual. It sits on a shelf above our bed and the power cable is a bit short for that but as it terminates at the radio end with a USB plug I bought a 1m USB extension cable. Sound quality for a bedroom is very good with more than enough volume with a useful equaliser. It comes with a dinky remote control which works extremely well. Finally I would like to comment on the user manual which is easily readable, very well written and shows all the controls very clearly. I highly recommend this radio.

Good value for money
So far so good. Radio seems very good, sound is fine and radio itself looks cheerful in the kitchen. Good display of time on screen but titles of music being played are very slow-moving. Instructions on quick set-up could maybe be a bit clearer.

Good looking radio
This is a very good radio, it looks good an ideal size for use indoors as well as outdoors. The sound is brilliant and is easy to set up the pre sets. It picks up all the normal stations without any problems. The remote is small but works well. Would recommend to any one looking for a quality radio at a reasonable price.

Well worth buying
I’ve nothing but praise for this DAB/DAB+ and FM radio. It’s neat, compact, easy to use and I can tune in local DAB stations as well as all the national ones which I’ve not been able to do with a previous bit of kit. Volume is plenty enough to fill a good sized room and the quality is great, crystal clear. It handles the bass line, mid and treble lines with no problems at all. Have not run the rechargeable battery out yet as it’s normally used on the mains, but it is an ideal partner for picnics, visits to the beach, any outdoor applications. Aesthetically pleasing on the eye with its smooth lines and slightly retro look. All round great little performer !!! Lastly the price, very good value for the money.

Just brilliant!
Brilliant value for money. Great sound, easy to use and love the fact it has battery that lasts a long time. This is the best DAB radio in this price range.

Good looking, good sounding radio at a good price, but flawed as an alarm
My rating of the sound quality takes into account that it's a portable radio, not a hi-fi set. It sounds good for what it is. I haven't run the battery down to see how long it lasts, but I've not yet seen it go below one bar off full charge in a several of hours of use at medium volume, so it should last at least the 6 hours they claim or better. Plus points: * Clear display that dims down really low so it doesn't light up a dark bedroom. * Full selection of information available on display including (for geeks) DAB receive errors (indicating signal quality). * The receiver seems to be reasonably sensitive. Not as good as a 12 year old Roberts set I had, but still OK with the aerial fully extended. * The FM receiver works well and also seems sensitive. * The auxiliary input is useful and works well with a smartphone plugged in for playing podcasts or the like (note that it doesn't do Bluetooth). Includes a 3.5mm jack lead. * Loads of presets, and the first 10 are directly accessible with the remote control (rather than having to scroll through them). * You can set the volume for the alarms (individually) and they fade up when they engage so as not to wake you with a jump. * Comes with a USB charger and a decent length lead. * Feels light and is easy to carry with the handle. * Nice retro concept design with a clean look. Minus points: * It takes a lot of button pushes to access things that ought to be easier to get at such as the equaliser and alarms. This is, without doubt, by far the biggest downer I have on this product. * No headphone socket. That would be a useful addition and could provide the stereo output that the receivers are capable of producing but which gets lost in the mono speaker. * The alarms only work when it's turned on or is in standby mode, and it can only go into standby mode when on charge via the USB connector. That wouldn't but so bad, but if the power drops out, it doesn't go back into standby mode when the power comes back; you have to press the power button. Hence, get a short power cut during the night and you've lost your morning wake-up call. * Away from mains electricity I tried using separate USB recharge pack to keep it in standby but the current draw once the battery was charged was too small to keep my power pack turned on. Other models of power pack may behave differently. My power pack (which wasn't expensive) also generated RFI sufficient to jam DAB reception. * The instruction manual isn't the best. It doesn't present the information in the order you need it when you start using the product. * The remote control doesn't have a mute button (but you can change the volume down to zero). * The remote control provides no access to presets 11-20 that I could find.
