Excellent product and ideal for a variety of woods
Recently installed oak worktops and used this as recommended by the shop. Thought I’d chance my arm using this on new oak doors also and it was very easy to use with a fantastic finish. I didn’t use a brush to put the oil on as instructed on the tin and instead used a cotton cloth with cotton wool in the middle. This gave a much better finish and less oil was used, it also meant there were no splash/brush marks. The oil is excellent on worktops and water/ liquids sit on top and wipe away very easily. Gives off a fantastic shine and brings out the grain in the wood. One tin was enough to oil the worktops 4/5 times and also oil 5 doors once.

Don't be frightened, it's lovely stuff!
To oil or not to oil, that is the question. Having never oiled worktops before, I did quite a bit of research before settling on WOCA. I wanted to keep the wood as close to its natural color as possible so, with a degree of anxious skepticism chose the 'White' oil rather than the 'natural', as recommended by others. Almost fell over when I first opened the can. It really is WHITE! Reluctantly applied first coat as instructed and then wandered around like a worried expectant father until it was time to wipe off. I was convinced I had ruined this lovely wood worktop by painting it white but I really needn't have worried. All I can say is, "don't panic - just follow the instructions. What you end up with is a lovely silky finish which has a soft natural matt/very gently sheen (I know that sounds like a complete contradiction but it isn't). Take your time, have faith and enjoy the result. The only reason I have given it 3 stars for water resistance is that is hasn't been really tested yet (well, sorry but I'm not that keen to pour water over the worktop just for a review). However, from the feel of the top I am pretty confident it will repel water more than adequately. Have bought a second tin for other projects.

Easy to use doesn’t change colour of the wood
Very good product easy to use and bought up the worktops very well. Definitely need to use less is more approach and leave good time to dry.

Good finish to wooden worktops
Well packaged. Not a big tin but works really well on our wooden kitchen worktops. Used when originally fitted the kitchen. Have tried various other cheaper options, linseed etc but not as good a finish or as long lasting so this is more cost effective. Good coverage, easy to use but needs to dry for about 24 hours. No nasty smell and looks good once dry.

Brilliant Product
Very good product. I do it my way. 1. Do it during the summer and before going on holiday 2. Run down with wet and dry 240 lightly using a mix of water and washing up Liquid 3. Wipe down with a clean cloth in water 4. Leave for 24 hours 5. Brush on the oil but lightly Not loads of the stuff very important 6. Wait 30 minutes and Use The white buffing block. 7. Wait about 5 hours any areas that have soaked in and gone Matt put a very very small amount of oil on with a brush 6. Be super patient after 24 hours it will still be tacky in my experience. I will leave it a week before fully using it but would say it’s okay to use after say 48 hours. Please note. Best to do in summer and before going away as give chance to fully cure. It may stay slightly tacky for weeks but it will eventually go hard and last a full year if not two.

wooktop oil
thought I would give this a go. Bit sticky and thick for me although works OK. Sorry but I prefer the IKEA workbench oil.

A stunning natural finish
We used this for a new oak dining table. We wanted to protect the table but didn’t want to cover what is a beautiful new piece of furniture. Applying this stuff takes time and preparation is everything - but, wow, it’s worth it. The finish is spectacular and several week of family use show no marks or rings from red wine or hot pans. A word of advice: follow the instructions to the letter. Get a brand new fine brush and get some high quality sandpaper of the grit levels in the instructions. After the the third coat, lightly sand whilst wet - counterintuitive but it makes such a difference to the end finish. I can’t stress that last point enough and it’s in the instructions. This is by far the best oil / wax / stain I’ve used.

Wasn’t too sure at first …
First time trying the white oil. Have previously used the natural. Overall impressed with the finish. Slightly lightened our oak worktops as it should. Only negative is it was quite hard to wipe the excess away after leaving to dry for 20-30 mins.

Too Amber for my liking
