Love it! Had some trouble recharging it, but was able to figure it out and it is recharged and chugging away. Took the third car off when trying to figure it out so video doesn’t show it, but now that it’s working will add it back on. To charge, remove lid from second car (the ‘coal car’) and connect the battery inside the car to the rechargeable battery with the included charger. It recharges quickly. Put the roof back on the car and set it back on the track. The wheels don’t always set easily on the tracks but once you get the train on the tracks it usually doesn’t go off as it chugs around. The second car where the battery is has to be connected by a plug to the first car in the back (the engine). The switch to turn on the train is on the back of the engine. Once set up the train will chug around and around the tree. Add water to a port on top of the engine for the smoke. It’s very cute and fun!

Easy to use, quality is good for price… it’s small but not too small for my 5 year old but the electronic noises are NOT it. They’re loud and annoying…. I almost want to return because of the noise. Charge batteries before you give as a gift!

It's very easy to install; literally my 10-year-old son put it together. The price is a bit high since it's made of a very fragile material, but it's a lot of fun; my 4-year-old son is very happy.

I ordered this for my son’s 4th birthday. He loves trains and I figured it was time for a cool one that he wouldn’t tear up immediately. I got this one because it lit up, has a whistle, and is supposed to emit “steam”. I ordered one and it was wonderful EXCEPT it did NOT have any “steam”! I was really disappointed because I thought it would be a really cool part of playing with the train that the kids would enjoy. So, what do I do? I tell them to send me another one. Surely it’s just a defective train and the next one will work fine. Nope! Next one is exactly the same. I try putting more water/less water. Try putting it on the different settings. Nothing. No steam! So I’m just really disappointed overall. And I can’t seem to get in contact with the seller to address this issue so I guess we’re just going to be stuck with a train that doesn’t work properly. It wouldn’t be a big deal except my son hasn’t been able to play with his birthday present because I didn’t want anything to happen to it where I could no longer return it. But now I’ll just let him have at it and hopefully he doesn’t mind not having the steam.

The train set was okay overall. Some pros/good things: the smoke works pretty well, the train noises are loud (I like this part but others may not since it's hard to keep on while talking/watching tv) and it was pretty simple to assemble out of the box. Now the con/bad part: the train wheels are so flimsy/temperamental/difficult to line up on the tracks. It took many tries to get every car lined up just right so it would stay on the tracks consistently. It got to be quite frustrating to turn the train on/off since we dreaded lining the cars back up on the tracks. The train cars are pretty durable so far. The village scene/people are also really cheap/flimsy and not so easy to stand up without them falling over with one small breeze 😂

Train comes with a good amount of track, I bought it for Xmas so I just used the full round track. For being an inexpensive train it has wonderful details and being battery operated makes it self-contained and easy to set up. The smoke feature is not dramatic, we filled it multiple times and we’re only able to get a little bit of smoke out, but it’s not a big deal to me personally at this price point and no fear of kids breaking it either.

We bought this to be used as a surprise for a friend who loves charcuterie boards for their birthday. Wanted to spice it up so we made them a CharChooterie Train for their birthday and it was a total hit! They couldn’t stop laughing once they came in and saw what we had done, everyone enjoyed putting it together, and it worked perfectly. Will definitely be using this for other parties in the future (in the sense of it will be a vehicle for food and cuteness) and am so glad it worked out so well! We hadn’t beta tested it before the party- so I’d been a little worried about quality and size- but it ended up being easy to put together, good size, cute train sounds, and easy to duct tape some paper plates to the train tops. 10/10 recommended for silly cuteness for all involved!
