Origami Pop-ups: to Amaze and Amuse

My 9 year old son is obsessed with Jeremy Shafer origami. He has done hundreds of his designs online and he asked me to buy this book for him. It is amazing! The designs are fun and unique and most of them are new to him. The instructions are clear and he has not struggled with any of them. We will definitely buy more of his books as it gets him off the screen.

I haven't done any of the Origami projects in this book yet but have studied the book and they seem just amazing. Will write another review when I've done a couple of them. Have now folded 6 pop-ups and They're really good. They range from super simple to rather complex. The diagrams are nice and clear. The only problem I had was finding the right sort of paper to fold with as the pop-ups use many folds you need really thin paper. I will now buy the other Jeremy Shafer books.

Known for his quirky, fun models which usually have an action to them, Jeremy Shafer has written his third book and it is wonderful! A hefty volume of clever pop up card models all folded from single sheets of paper. If you know his work you will already have ordered this! If you love origami then buy it now! Clear and humorous step by step instructions add to the joy of making these designs. Highly recommended.

Very creative models with clear instructions and well designed diagrams. This is a nice origami book for everybody - from beginners to advanced folders. It's well printed and the material is very nice as well.

Since I teach Pop-ups as part of my Geometry Course, and love origami this book was quite a find! Jeremy Shafer was is usual creative self, with models and humor mixed together. Most models require specialized paper, but that would also be normal for cards anyway. His technique of first teaching the figure that will pop-up and then the card, is really interesting, He has a list of his U-tube tutorials in the back, so I plan to find some fun viewing time in the next few days. Oh, I should note I feel the cards range from low intermediate to complex, but there is also simple models mixed in.

Genau dieses Buch hatte sich mein Patenkind gewünscht - und also auch bekommen. Ich bin erstaunt, was er daraus alles hat basten (falten) können. Hieraus und von der Web-Seite des Autors hat er "zig" von Tieren und anderen interessanten Dingen gefaltet.
