I am slowly working my way through it and find it structure be very well laid out. It gives advice about musical theory and notation along with progressing through a range of different tunes. This helps me build up confidence and I am pleased to say that Iโm making progress quite quickly. I therefore Iโm happy to recommend this music book to others in a similar position to myself. Review: Great book highly recomended - As a total beginner I have looked at youtube tutorials and bought one other book to get started. But nothing has helped me as much as this book. The lesson structure and exercises seem to me perfectly suited to the complete beginner without being patronising. I particularly like the choice of music you are asked to play, you start out with 'Amazing Grace' not 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' or similar baby tunes, Obviously simplified versions, just the melody, but it gives you a quick 'win' and sense that you are getting somewhere. I am still on module one, but if you are a complete beginner look no further, this book realy does it.

Good for basics
I purchased this to learn a few skills as a beginner. I can already read music and I recognise quite a few of the songs so it is pleasurable to play. I have got through three quarters of the book and my left and right hand are playing well together. I will purchase more in the series if I wish to continue improving. I feel like you work your way through the book and move on so I may never use this book again, which seems a waste.

Excellent book for a complete beginner
Very good book for a complete beginner like me, starts with the complete basics with lots of explanation and examples plus QR codes on pretty much every page to access extras on their website (for eg audios of accompaniment to some of the exercises for if you don't have a teacher). I think you could probably use this book as a teach-yourself, although myself I find having a teacher makes up for my lack of self-discipline! Only criticism is that it's an American book so uses American musical terms rather than British, eg "measure" instead of "bar".

My 1st piano method book
This is my first method book and as a recent beginner a couple of months earlier I had been using built in features in a very old Yamaha keyboard for a month then bought a Yamaha p125 which came with 3 months of flow key. Which also has some intro lessons which I worked through for the 1month prior to this book and felt like I needed something more. When self learning rhythm and dynamics are the bit you miss to much of. So decided to try this book so far have found it informative as itโs filled in lots of theory gaps which I needed. The counting and rhythm bits are not as well explained at the beginning as I needed. Counting 16th notes and 8th notes but Manet just havenโt reached that bit yet. The rhythm drills in unit 6 were particularly useful and pushing my playing forward. I expect a teacher would have established this earlier. The book helps with sight reading skills through practice and interval training and feel that I have progressed in this with the aid of the book and the app. Currently Iโm at page 122 but still struggle to match the tempo of faster pieces while maintaining rhythm starting to spend more time on each piece as a result of understanding whatโs needed. Expect if using with a teacher will move more slowly at the beginning to get the basics in. Find the app to be good after purchasing the lessons. Have also purchased the classics book. There is a review of learning at the end of each section. Only weakness I would say is an explanation of what you need to achieve to move on from each section. As an ex lecturer i would put in a list of must be able to before moving on at end of each section. Probably assumed your teacher would decide for you or itโs so obvious to the authors. All in all I would say worth the money for the books and online music in the app.

Good for beginners
I have been a self taught pianist for 30 years. I was recommended this book. But actually it is a bit basic for my ability. Very good for new learners though.

Amazing Piano Book!
This is a superb book and I'm so impressed with it that I've bought Book 2. As described, it's for adult beginners or adults returning to playing the piano (I'm in the latter group). The presentation and content is excellent, everything clearly explained and nothing taken for granted / no assumptions made. I love the QR codes provided for each chapter with the accompanying tutorials and performance options. To be able to play along to background music even at this early stage, makes learning great fun. All the theory is very clearly explained. If you are wanting to learn the piano or pick up again after many years, I would strongly recommend this resource - it's just fantastic! I believe the two books will get me back to intermediate level in time. The spiral binding means the book stays open on the piano book rest with ease. If I may, I would like to suggest that if learning the piano as a complete beginner without any prior musical background, it would be helpful if you took lessons with a music teacher who would be invaluable in helping you get the most out of these books. There are 'teacher' accompaniments provided as well.

Great book. Good tunes. Makes learning fun.
This was recommended to me by my school teacher (I'm now a working professional for the last 15 years)... and I can see why she was so keen I use this book and no other. Definitely recommended!

Pretty good intro to piano
It's a little book but you can understand the basics. I strongly advise for producers who want to learn how to play a little the midi keyboard.

Perfect for beginners.
Loce it. I know zero of piano. It's easily explain but not to childish. Enough to challenge but not frustrat you. I'm loving it. But take in consideration it take time, and it's very exhausting to play. It looks like a sport XD BTW, even if you don't know most of the songs, you can try to guess and then check online to see if your guess was correct (all songs have a QR code to see the example). It worth it's value. Perfect first book.
