not for old time simmers
This game is only for arcade use. Do not purchase if you want to experience flight similar to the real planes. I feel that if you are not a flight sim person and just want a game you can shoot and shoot, then this will appeal to you. There is a segment of flight gamers that will really enjoy this type of flight game. I do not use the term flight sim because this game has none of the characteristics of a flight sim such as IL2 and Microsoft X. The graphics are good though. So for arcade like fun great, flight some no.

Great Classic and works with Windows 10.
I played this many years ago for hours on Windows XP. It is a arcade type game and I also remember finding out how to tweak the settings files to increase some power settings and make my plane stronger. A couple of years ago, lots of things were taken in a break-in and it was taken. I just got a new Windows computer that I upgraded to Windows 10 (Lenovo Horizon 2s) and I researched Amazon for this program and others (Silent Hunter series. I wanted to see if they were still as much fun as years ago and if they would run under Windows 10. Yes on both counts! The DVD Rom installed from a USB portable optical drive. It took a long time. I do not have any trouble yet with any old games running under Windows 10. This Air Conflicts game is a real blast but I still am searching to find the files to tweak so I don't get shot down so often!

Good multiplayer
Back in the day, all my friends played F-22 Lightning 3. Many years later, I wanted to play a flying game with my kids. F-22 Lightning is still around, and still fun...but you have to really jump through hoops to play it on more than one computer located in the same house. It also requires a central server and the language on public games is not kid friendly at all. So after looking around I found Air Conflicts. It has good LAN play and will run on older systems, although you will need to turn the frame rate and details down on a built in Intel graphics card (I think there is a patch for that, but it runs pretty smooth just to turn some settings to low). My entry-level gaming system has a ZOTAC nVidia GeForce 9500GT, and it plays it great. The pros. It's not a flight simulator. Your nine-year old can jump right in and start playing. Multiplayer is pretty easy to set up. I've only played a few games in it, but it's fun enough to justify the price of this game. In fact, that's the one reason I bought this game. It also has some fun single player missions. The cons. It's not a flight simulator and the planes are WWII era. I so want to roll over and dive or fly upside down, but you just can't do it. It has missiles, but it seems almost impossible to actually hit another plane with them. And sometimes it seems like a plane should look like swiss cheese and yet they keep on flying. All things considered, I gave it four stars. If you could roll over, I might have given it a five. Most of the things that make this a good game are there. Doesn't take a state of the art gaming system; Easy for people to just jump in and fly; and fairly priced = worth it!

I was more than pleased with the game
It started out as exactly what I was looking for: a mindless game of dog fights and bombing runs. I was more than pleased with the game. However, just one day after the last available day to return the game, it stopped working. The game loads and runs as normal but there is no way to control the aircraft using the joystick, mouse, or keyboard. I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling the program repeatedly but to no avail. Now I am stuck with a game I enjoy but cannot play. Very disappointing. Had it not failed I would be giving it 5 stars with no problem. Update: The problem I was experiencing was not the game. It turns out it was an auto update by the computer manufacturer that only partially updated then failed repeatedly. After turning off the auto update on my computer and defragging the pieces of update it did install, the game is back to running great. So I am changing my rating to 5 stars as the game is exactly what I was looking for.

the worst install i have ever seen
wow here i am writing a bad review . i didnt think it possible its ironic that they put this game next to iron aces wich i rated as cardboard aces the graphics are lile crayon drawings . now this one even with this years new computer , massive memory and top of the line video card . i can not get this game to install . ok if your reading this you must like flight simulators . dont waste your money as i have . the best are still il2 and il 2 sturmovic also il 2 ace expansion pack . those are great flight sims it seems today they spend the marketing on the box and the game does not even load up. trust me go for il2 forgotten battles ace expansion pack .that game does not dissapoint in anyway.

Arcade level, but lots of fun...
Okay, this will not challenge real gamers, but isn't flaky either. Sometimes it is fun to just blow up stuff and shoot down a whole flock of "enemy" while still returning in one piece - although, with abject foolhardiness or bravado you can get blown up or shot down too... AirConflicts satisfies any requirement for uncomplicated fun quite nicely. Set up and play is dirt easy too... graphics are in the 75-90% category by modern standards and shouldn't overburden most video-cards, but they are entirely acceptable and the planes generally fly nicely, responding to basic inputs... This will not tax a flightsim addict, nor will a MS combat flightsim fanatic feel particularly challenged either, but it is an amusing diversion that keeps score to move forward, supplies the obligatory rewards and new aircraft as prizes and generally is pleasant for an hour or so at a time - especially when you don't want to get into the intricacies and tribulations of more lifelike sims... Good stuff...

PC Game Simulation
Was disappointed to see that the developer had put some real effort into the video graphics but at the same time did not put in JOYSTICK capability, just mouse and keyboard will work. If there is a way to use the joystick, I might rate it higher.
