zester

This is a nice piece of kit, well proportioned, practical to use and easy to clean. The graters are advertised as razor sharp and so they are, though the design is such that they are not a serious hazard to knuckles, finger tips or other body parts. They make it really easy to strip an orange, lemon or lime of its zest and only its zest, no pith (the fruit is left with a skin of the same colour as before, but paler and not shiny). I'm completely sold on the product and am now looking to avoid discarding any citrus skin without first stripping off the zest. Besides the traditional uses in cakes and puddings, I am trying it in other foods. The big successes so far are cocoa (cacao actually - strong, sweetened with honey, made with water, not milk, and a teaspoon of vanilla essence) and home-made tomato soup (the zest of one large orange divided between two bowls of soup). Tomato soup served this way is so good it ought to be listed as a 'legal high'.I have also tried the grater with chocolate. The result is very finely grated chocolate - but the task is nevertheless quicker and easier than with conventional graters. A little of the grated chocolate goes a long way, with the open surfaces optimised to give maximum smell and taste from minimum chocolate - a benefit on the calorie front even when cost is not an issue.Nutmeg and stem ginger are yet to come, but it won't be long. Then there will be horseradish.... I'm having so much fun with this.

Easy to use and very effective especially for grating lemon zest and Parmesan

Does an excellent job at zesting lemons. Easy to clean and to use. It's worth buying the microplane original as the quality is so much better

i saw several similar products cheaper online however i decided to stick to micoplane and im so glad i did, as the saying go's you get what you pay for which is true withh. this purchase, the build quality is noticable excellent good quality, also the balance feels just right. grating parmesan is a breeze and the blade doesnt clog easily like cheaper wannabe microplane items. i have no regrets

This is a very good microplane. I have used it repeatedly now for some time to zest citrus fruit and microplane hard parmesan style cheese and nutmeg. It is very easy to use, has retained it sharpness despite now probably 100's of uses. It is also very easy to clean. Just run it under a tap of hot water immediately after use. I have never put this through a dishwasher. For storage it comes with a protective sleeve which I have always used. I have marked it down 1 star as when it is washed water gets into the handle. You then need to drain the handle by standing it vertically. This I find is a nuisance and a bad design. Otherwise if it is an excellent piece of equipment for any kitchen.

Really good at producing small, fine pieces of zest off a lemon and orange. Easy to use so it doesn't take any of the pith.I've not tried to use it to grate Parmesan or other hard cheeses, I think it might be too fine for that.

Worth the hype, no other grater so far has matched this.

Bom produto

The quality is impressive—it’s sharp and high-quality, making zesting a easy. I love that it’s slip-resistant, ensuring I have a solid grip while working, and the design of the grater is great. The surface wraps around a bit, which means there are no dead spots, allowing me to maximize zesting efficiency. It’s not just for lemons; I’ve used it for garlic and other ingredients, and it performs every time. The slip-resistant knobs on top are a thoughtful touch, letting me rest the zester on the cutting board without any slipping or rotating. While the zester is amazing overall, I do wish the protective sheath was of a higher quality—it could be sturdier. However, considering the performance and build quality, this zester is definitely worth the extra money compared to others on the market. Plus, it’s dishwasher safe, which is a must for easy cleaning. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to upgrade the protective sheath. Other than that, this lemon zester is a game-changer in my kitchen!
