Finally an alarm that actually wakes me up
I’ve always been a really deep sleeper and I’m terrible with snoozing. I’ve tried setting multiple alarms, putting my phone across the room, using really loud alarms, etc. Somehow I would still either sleep through them or turn them off half asleep and go right back to bed. Shock Clock is the first thing that has actually worked consistently for me. I have mine set to start with vibration and then increase if I don’t wake up. The zap sounds a little crazy at first, but you can adjust the strength and it really doesn’t need to be that intense. Just knowing it’s coming is usually enough. The weirdest part is that after using it for a little while, I started waking up from the vibration before it even got to the zap. It honestly feels like my brain learned pretty quickly that ignoring the vibration was a bad idea. Another big plus is that it doesn’t wake up the person sleeping next to me. I used to have alarms going off over and over in the morning, which was obviously annoying for everyone. Now I can wake up without blasting an alarm across the room. I also like that I can make it harder to just turn the alarm off from my wrist. That was always my problem with normal alarms — half-asleep me is apparently very good at shutting them off. The battery lasts me about a week, the band is comfortable enough to sleep in, and setup was pretty simple. If you already wake up easily, you probably don’t need something like this. But if you’re the kind of person who can somehow sleep through five alarms and has tried basically everything else, it’s worth trying. For me, the biggest difference is pretty simple: when my alarm goes off now, I actually get up.

First impressions
What everyone below me has said is completely true, so I won’t get into too much detail on a lot of its faults. In short, the app is god awful, the device itself could have a lot more useful tech for $150, heart rate tracking especially, and I can’t believe it doesn’t have a clock on it. It wouldn’t need to be fancy, a simple LCD quartz clock wouldn’t be hard or expensive to incorporate, because I find myself looking at it all the time (maybe I can shock this conditioning out of myself 😂). It’s also very annoying that it only comes in purple, but I assume it’s one of the ways they can upsell the Pavlok 3, which leads me to my next point… There is absolutely no reason to buy the Pavlok 3, it’s essentially the exact same thing and for $50 or (yet another) monthly subscription of $8, you can purchase all the app functionality that you get with the Pavlok 3. With a $20 coupon, the shock clock 3 was $145, so the one time $50 charge would still make it ~$60 cheaper than the P3. But, it’s pointless. As I said, the app is complete garbage. The habit forming and breaking functions are nothing more than notifications, something you could easily achieve with a reminders app. Seeing as it can’t actually know when you’re doing something that you want to break, it’s 100% up to you to be conscious of it, and shock yourself. Luckily, the shock clock has a button for exactly that as well, and you can use it whenever you want. So, save yourself the money and set reminders on another app, if that’s how you’d like to do it, and then zap yourself. But, I can’t stress this enough, you have to WANT to break/learn the habit, or else you’ll never actually follow through with the most important part, at least of that functionality aspect. The alarm is a different story, it’s the only function that can passively condition you, as long as you actually put it on and secure it in whatever way you need (probably not with the strap lock provided, that thing is NOT a barrier to removing the watch). I don’t know about you, but the shock on demand feature is just a bonus, and I purchased this solely as an alarm. And yes, it 10000% works. I have never woken up so fast in my entire life, as I have the past few mornings. I have it set at 65%, 5 shocks every 8 seconds, I close out of the QR code on my laptop and lock it, so I have to unlock my computer and find the code, all while being shocked to oblivion. By the time I turn the thing off, I have zero desire to crawl back into bed, and when I say that is LIFE CHANGING, I truly mean it. I can’t even begin to express the importance of that to me, it feels like I have suddenly gained a super power. Hence why I’m giving it 5 stars after all the complaints. Sure, it could be a lot better for the price, but look at it this way, the value is determined by its capability to change your life, not by its multi-functionality. From that point of view, it’s a no-brainer purchase for me. A simple app overhaul really is in order though so, if you’re reading this, Pavlok, please prioritize your existing customers before putting out “Pavlok 4”!!!!!

Unreliable junk
It's junk. I can't figure out why this thing is so expensive because it can't be made of anything good. I have $25 Bluetooth earbuds that have better connectivity than this thing. It worked waking me up exactly one time when I managed to pair it to my phone (Pixel 6) with difficulty. This thing will constantly fail to connect until you finally get it to go through one time (on a miracle). Problem is, it constantly disconnects itself. So, every time you go to bed you have to go into the Pavlok app and re-sync the thing to get it to work. However, even if you do that you are rolling the dice that the thing won't randomly disconnect itself from your phone in the middle of the night and fail to wake you up in the morning because of it. The whole point of this watch is to reliably wake up heavy sleepers and it can't even do that. It's useless without the app and it has no screen (despite it's price) so you have to rely on some light system on the side of the watch to determine what state that it is in. The connectivity of this thing is so bad that it now won't even pair to my phone at all (see video). It constantly just fails on "syncing alarms" (of which I only have one). I tried all their troubleshooting steps of forgetting the device in Bluetooth settings and trying to pair it over and over again but nothing works. I have the watch plugged in and sitting right next to my phone and this thing still can't connect. Now, imagine this thing working from over 10 feet away (not happening). I can't think that my phone is the problem as I have several other Bluetooth devices connected to it without any issues (a galaxy watch, Anker Bluetooth earbuds, and Razer Bluetooth headphones). I would give it a higher star rating because it isn't uncomfortable to wear and it can shock you to wake you up however since it can't even perform the one basic function it was created for I can't give it anything other than one star. I'm going to try to return it as it's junk that can't be relied on. It's basically useless at this point since it can't pair with the app on my phone. I'd rather it not end up in a landfill or worse in the ocean where it chokes out some poor sea turtle, but honestly, I don't think it could even manage to do that right.

Great for individuals who have a hard time waking up to sound alarms
A more expensive purchase for me for sure, but absolutely worth it. I have struggled for a very long time being able to wake from deep sleep. I have never been successful with sound alarms and knew I needed to invest in a more reliable device/method. I love this watch. The set up with the app on my phone was very streamlined. Even when my device disconnects, it reconnects on its own making it incredibly reliable. I think it is supposed to be marketed for an everyday use as well, but has no other features for everyday use. I think it would be great to have even just a digital clock on the watch face. I only wear it when sleeping because it does not have any beneficial use to me personally outside of that. The watch band is comfortable and setting up alarms is a super easy process. I have never had any issues with any of the features that I use it for. I have had mine for about two years now and it still works as well as it did the day that I bought it.

Recommended for those who can sleep through a hurricane
I have been using this for almost a year now, and highly recommend for anyone struggling to wake up. I cannot wake up to save my life, have gotten to the cusp of being fired but this saved me. Started off great and exactly as marketed the shock didn’t hurt just sent a jolt of energy and woke me up. Kept the shock level around 5, but I got used to it after a while of using everyday and had to stay at 10 for a while. It would go off for about 5 minutes and ends up almost burning me and I wake up quickly to that. Has left a couple blisters, but I keep it on the bottom side of my wrist as mine are boney and never worked properly on top. The reason I still highly recommend this is because I take breaks between when I use it now, and I do not have the same issue. I associate the beep with the shock and can wake up to some noises now where before, I would sleep through 45 straight minutes of alarms. I have never been able to have a routine until this. Using it right is the key, and if you do this is an amazing product. Also worth noting I thought there would be issues with the app initially because of some comments, but I never had a problem once I understood it. It did also help me figure out what makes me still so tired in the morning with the sleep tracker, and inadvertently helped my eating habits because they were related.

Will get you out of bed
The watch itself works great and is honestly the only thing I have found in my adult life that can pretty much guarantee I wake up when I need to. The shock feature is extremely effective, and when everything works correctly this thing is awesome. The problem is the app. The watch relies on the app enough that I consider it part of the product, and the app is easily the weakest part. It can be laggy and just does not feel as reliable or polished as it should for something controlling an alarm. I have also had one morning where I turned my alarms on in the app and they never went off. That has only happened once, so I do not know if the app lagged out, failed to sync, or what happened, but that is a pretty big issue for a product you are buying specifically because you need to wake up. If they would fix the app, this would easily be a 5 out of 5 for me. The actual Shock Clock does exactly what I bought it for and works better than any normal alarm I have tried. I just cannot give it five stars when the software it depends on is this inconsistent.

Chronic Fatigue: 1 | Shock Watch: 0
I have an autoimmune disease and suffer with chronic fatigue from it. Waking up and getting out of bed in the morning is one of the most challenging parts of my day. I was so hopeful that this would work- I’ve tried everything else I can think of. I thought an electric shock would finally do the trick! Unfortunately, the results: Chronic Fatigue: 1 | Shock Watch: 0. Although it didn’t help me actually get up, I am giving this two stars because the available features are great. I did feel the vibrations and shock while it was alarming. I also heard the alarm beeping. My body just didn’t care. I tried this watch for three nights. Apparently I need to try defibrillator shock strength… The watch is programmed with 3 different settings - vibration, shock, and sound - with multiple customization options for each. You can adjust the vibration strength, the shock strength, the volume of the beeping and the number of beeps. You can customize which features are triggered with the alarm- all or some. This size was as expected. It fit well with the ability to expand or tighten the silicone band. It held up just fine to the three nights of sleep I tried it for. The “screen” stays black so there are no lights to distract you from your sleep. And the battery life is at 80% after three nights of use without recharging. The app is ok. You can sync it with your health data, but I think it could be more user friendly. You can use it for more than just an alarm. The app has options for training behavior, like breaking bad habits, but of course you have to pay for those “premium features”. Truthfully, even if this watch did do the trick, I don’t think it’s worth the price.

Shock works amazing!
Absolutely amazing! I wish for the price it would at least act like a watch. But other than that this product far exceeded my expectations. I am a heavy heavy heavy sleeper and this wakes me up instantly. No connection issues or anything! The app is super easy and everything about this is just great! The shock is just perfect for waking me up:)

Life changing
I read some negative reviews on here, so I was preparing myself for disappointment - but it is FANTASTIC for someone like me who finds it impossible to get up. There are a huge number of options, but personally, I have it set to make me do jumping jacks (and no, waving your arm about in bed doesn’t work!) I’ve set mine to vibrate, sound an alarm and then shock, so I have a minute or so if I want to avoid a shock. I have it set at 50% shock and that is plenty. It can’t be turned off either! If it is telling you to do your star jumps/ puzzle etc, you can’t over-ride it on your phone. Sure, you can take it off to stop the electric shocks, but it will still make a noise and vibrate (be careful you don’t set it for the wrong time by mistake!!) There is also an option which means that if it senses that you’ve gone back to bed, it will start again (I think it is about 5 minutes later). The problem with that setting is that if you take it off to have a shower, it thinks you’ve gone back to bed and you have to redo the jumping jacks! It can be set to increase in intensity as time goes on and so that it wakes you up when you’re in a lighter sleep phase. Looking at the negative reviews….: I have an iPhone, so there hasn’t been any software issues, unlike another android user. Yes, the back of the watch obviously needs to make contact with your skin for you to feel the shock/ vibrations, but it just means you have to wear it like a watch, not a bangle. It arrives charged and the battery lasts about 7 days, so I wonder if people who have commented that it “just stopped working after a week” have remembered to charge it?! A big recommendation from me - and I wasn’t expecting it to work - I was just desperate.

Download the app
Hi I just purchased the item and delivered it today. I tried to download the app to use it. I couldn’t find any app, I clicked on something but it’s not working. Can you tell me what that to do?
