The bass is fairly flat compared to the source recording. These are monitor headphones. The frequency response is fantastic but getting this response to actually play out is rather challenging due to high ohm requirement. So you'll need a good source and a strong, high ohm amplifier for these phones.

Q: Is the cable detachable and how long is it?

No it isn't detachable and it's 3 m long and a straight cable (Pro has a 3 m coiled cable)

Q: Would both Denon and Marantz mini systems, rated 30 W per channel be powerful enough to drive the 250 ohm version?

Mine is 32 ohm version, working on portable device perfectly. I think you should plug the 250 ohm version into the earphone jack of your mini system.

I'm not sure but you may find it hard to drive these head phones. I looked online and I could not find any headphone output rating for the item. It just says 100mW into 40 ohms....s/n ratio is low so I would say u would need a 32ohm pair to get them to be driven well. Best thing you can do is try a pair and send them back if you can not get a decent volume and detail out of them. Good luck... ; )
