We've been growing herbs on our kitchen window sill for a while now and have had them sitting in saucers. They've done well, but we wanted something that looked a bit nicer, and this seemed to fit the bill. The kit comes in a cardboard sleeve, and once you slide this off you'll find the wooden box is pleasantly rustic (looks like it wouldn't last too long if you left it outside, but this is for indoor use) with the metal pots inside. Each pot contains a bag of "growing medium" (compost / soil), a stick of chalk, a tiny plastic pack of seeds (parsley, chive and basil are supplied), and a mysterious cotton wool disk the purpose of which isn't mentioned anywhere. We've not tried growing the supplied herbs, but our own ones which came in pots from the supermarket fit perfectly inside the metal pots. The front of the wooden box has a black section you can draw on with the chalk, so you can write the names of the herbs on the front if you wish. The box also has a plastic tray in the bottom, so if you spill any water it won't cause the wood to rot. A nice, well thought-out kit, and it looks great on our kitchen window. A bit of a bargain too.

This looks really nice on my windowsill. The kit itself is well made and study and the zinc pots are a good size. It comes with three bags of vermiculite and three packs of seeds but I wanted the kit to hold pre-potted supermarket herbs so I haven't sown the seeds yet. I might give them a go but I'm not sure how it will work growing seeds in the metal buckets themselves so I can't comment on that. It does look very nice though and I like how you can write on the black part with the provided chalks.

I bought two of these as I use a lot of fresh herbs when I'm cooking. I liked the look of them and after reading the reviews where the seeds didn't grow, this didn't bother me as I buy the herb plants ready grown from the supermarket (I don't have the patience to wait). So I just discarded the seeds and slotted in my newly purchased ready grown, for an instant ready to use, attractive indoor herb garden. Perfect They look really classy on the kitchen window ledge and the chalk bar (you get a box of three chalks) means you can change your herbs to remind you what they are, if you are not a herb connoisseur :-) There is a small plastic tray in the bottom which catches any excess over watering. You might think it looks cheap on arriving, but trust me the addition of the plants gives the boxes a whole different look.

I feel like what I really paid for here was the pots and holder, it is really nice and well made, having the plastic tray in already is really helpful, as is the blackboard. However the soil mix and seeds I’m not so chuffed with (hence the 3*) as its grown a tiny bit and gone mouldy! I think I’ll just chuck it all out and put in normal compost. Even without the seeds, soil etc, I feel like this is a good price for the pots and trays (£11), they are a good size too.

Very pleased with my purchase- a gift for my mother and both happy! The whole product looks aesthetically pleasing with reasonably quality- it isn't the best materials but well made(put together)! Has made a good gift, the parsley and basil have started to grow but still waiting on the chives! I've been emailed by the company a couple of times and they have been very courteous and lovely! Really hope the company can continue to grow :)

I was attracted to this planter because it looked nicely made and functional for a low price. When the product arrived the wood was slightly damaged but seller provided a replacement free of charge - this arrived the next day! The new product is fantastic - very rustic and the chalkboard is a nice personal touch. I'd definitely purchase again. (I used it to replant supermarket herbs, but will try the seeds as well, as the kit itself looks good)

This is an indoor herb kit that will hold three pots - supplied. You can use it for herbs or other small plants. Quality is excellent and looks good on the windowsill. The tray catches any overspill. Some comments: Seed packets are hard to read and open. Perhaps ziplocs? I would prefer chalkboard on one side only so that I can have a natural wood colour facing the room. The supplied potting material leaves about an inch at the top of each pot - is this right?

Es tal cual la foto. Aún no lo he probado porque hace demasiado frío, así que no sabría decir si las semillas vienen bien o no, pero oye, para el precio por el que lo adquirí, no esta nada mal, me encanta.

Gleich vorweg - auf Grund der Reviews, und weil ich bei Samen oft etwas wählerisch bin, wollte ich nichts riskieren und habe mir gleich im Gartencenter meines Vertrauens eigene Samen gekauft, mein Review bezieht sich also nur auf alles andere. Die Ware kam gut verpackt und heil bei mir an - optisch wirklich ein Hingucker der sich perfekt auf meinem kleinen Fensterbrett macht! Kreide war enthalten, Substrat war enthalten - Samen waren enthalten. Die eigens-erworbenen Samen sprießen super in dem Substrat und ich freue mich wirlklich jeden Tag aufs Neue, wenn ich zum ersten Mal in der Küche vorbeischaue um zu Sehen, was sich getan hat! : ) Tut, was es soll!
