Teeran CarPlay Wireless Adapter for Factory Wired CarPlay 2024 Upgrade Plug & Play Dongle Converts Wired to Wireless for Cars from 2015 & iPhone iOS 10+ (White)

I have to say I was skeptical that an under $70 dongle would solve the lack of wireless Apple Car Play in my 2020 Chevy 3500HD High Country Duramax Diesel pickup truck. GM of course added wireless to the HD trucks in 2021. I use the Car Play feature constantly on our extensive travels towing our fifth wheel and touring unhitched. Route planning on my MacBook Pro laptop with Google maps and sending it to my iPhone works great along with calls, messaging and music but the wired connection was a hassle even with a ProClip plug in mount. This inexpensive accessory was easy to install and has worked very well. It does have a slight delay till Car Play is available but within 60-90 seconds it connects automatically. After almost 4 months of use and over 4000 miles of travel it has only had a connection glitch twice and restarting the vehicle solved the issue both times. A big plus was finding out it worked with the USB connector in the center console storage area where it is hidden and out of the way. I had just gotten a new iPhone 15 and hadn't connected it to the truck Bluetooth when I ordered this. Other reviews said the key to glitch free wireless connection was to not have the device set up for the vehicle Bluetooth. With almost no issues and an easy set up I'd say this advice was correct. Very happy with the purchase and performance of a device that makes up for an important missing feature and really improves a very expensive vehicle at a very low cost. Though it connects fine with the phone left in my belt holster I converted my Pro Clip mount to the Apple Mag Safe charging which gives me easy on-off mounting, keeps the phone charged on long trips and doesn't confuse the Car Play like plugging the phone into to the truck USB did.

This is my third unit so I feel comfortable giving a review. I've been happy with this brand and I recommend purchase. Once they are activated, these units work with no noticeable lag in any major app (phone, music, etc.). "No lag" was my most important feature when shopping originally, as some of the reviews for other brands mentioned lag, and I won't tolerate that with phone calls. So that's worth 4.5 stars. The process to pair the phone is very easy if you can just follow the included directions. Thereafter, if you are the only one driving the car, you'll basically never have an issue and it's a full 5 stars. If you share the car with another driver also configuring their phone for wireless airplay, then you may have an issue re-pairing initially when you switch drivers. If this happens, you just select the dongle name from the phone's bluetooth setting, hit "Connect" and then -- this is important -- just be patient for 20 seconds. Don't start messing with wifi or other settings - not only is it unnecessary but also it will interfere with the pairing. That's a minus 0.5 stars for spouse-related hassle. Once in a super long while, you may have a persistent pairing issue, especially if you violated the "be patient" rule above. In that event, just unplug and turn off the car, and then start it up, and you should be good to go. This third-time purchase is the first time I have used this unit in a USB-C car connector. It worked fine with the included USB A-to-C adaptor - no issues.

I originally went to another source (Crutch~~~ld) and paid $170 for a similar device that didn’t work well so I returned it. I saw the Teeran CarPlay adapter and figured I’d give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how easily it installed and how quickly it connects each time I start my car. I especially like how the USB plug is also the power supply, as I am not a fan of cables laying all over my console and dash. If I have to find a fault I’d say it’s if your in reverse and your car has a camera while it still connecting, when I put the car in drive the screen is blacked out. I can hear the music, the hands free controls still work, but the display is disabled. It’s quickly resolved by unplugging and replugging the dongle. Overall I’m satisfied with the purchase and would recommend this to anyone that want wireless CarPlay for their vehicle. 12/20/22 The dongle has stopped working for me. It just shows the device ID screen. Yesterday the visual aspect of Spotify stopped working. I could hear my music and change tracks and volume hands free like normal, but it was just a blank screen. All other apps, maps, messages, phone, etc. was functioning normally. Today it doesn’t function at all therefore I would like to retract my above review. It worked great until it didn’t. I haven’t had it for very long, maybe a month. I regret saying that it doesn’t feel like I made a wise investment. Buyer beware. 1/1/23 Happy new year all. On a whim I decided to retry using my adapter about a week ago and it’s been working fine. I don’t have an explanation as to why it suddenly started working again but I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts. Could freezing weather be the culprit?
