No Hype! The Real Deal!
So, I won't repeat what others have said in their reviews -- which by the way were extremely helpful in me choosing the Stile Colored Pencils. But let me give you the bottom line without all the hype! These pencils stay in their lane. They don't try and drive in the Prismacolor's lane, manage to stay out of the way of the Faber-Castell's, and at the end of the day avoids any oncoming traffic and does what they were meant to do -- simply color, with no bells or whistles. Now, mind you, I did my homework before procuring these. I thought that I was well informed until I ran across a review on YouTube I hadn't seen prior to their shipping. Oops! The person conducting the objective review brought out some salient points which could not be overlooked and I was anxious for my 150 set to arrive so that I could see for myself. As soon as they arrived I unboxed them. First things first. There was very little, if any, odor emitting from the box upon opening. I have the nose of a shark and was just dreading putting them in my laundry room to air out. Didn't need to. The smell issue is a moot point. So that's that. Now upon initial inspection it is true that all the pencils are numbered -- but have no corresponding color name. OK. Don't really dig that too much, but I knew that going in. Easy enough fix to this issue. Thirdly, although the pencils are numbered they are NOT grouped in any logical color family, hue or scheme. That was perplexing to say the least. And that was the biggest hurdle. But again, if you're not too rigid of a colorist you can group the colors into their respective "beds" according to your own palette. Lastly and most importantly -- the pencils themselves. They have a nice feel to them, even though they are not round. They are lightweight in nature. I immediately took quite a few different colors for a test drive and was delightfully surprised with the colors that I was looking at! Again, are they the big boys? Nope! I don't think they try to be either. This 150 set meets my current needs as a colorist. I recently purchased a 72 set of Prismacolors and must admit I have been somewhat disappointed in the overall lack of different color choices. So I then began my hunt for a coloring set which could be an adjunct to my Prismacolors. Again I didn't want an echo in my coloring supplies. I wanted an inexpensive set which could sing it's own tune and not be threatened by the "big boys!" And that's exactly what I got! I was fully prepared to send them back in the same day's mail if they didn't measure up (I had already found a comparable replacement set), but I didn't have to! So as the sun sets, we find that the SUDEE STILE Colored 150 Pencil Set is cruising right along -- doing the speed limit and staying in it's own lane! And, oh yeah, staying out of the way of the big boys on the road!

Great Set of Unique Color Pencils
These are an amazing set of color pencils. The color variety is wonderful, and the pencils are numbered which is a great help when you have so many to choose from. They are boxed in 3 layers with pull tabs to help take them out of the box, and also comes with two sharpeners. The colors are vibrant, they color smoothly, and blend very well. I purchased the 120 count set earlier and loved them so I was very pleased to find the set with 150 colors. I have not had an issue with the lead breaking like I have had with other sets that I have purchased, and that is great. It is nice to sit and color without having to resharpen my pencils constantly. Pricing is reasonable and these color just as well as some of the more high priced pencils. Packaging is great and they are easily portable is you would like to take them with you. I would highly recommend this set to anyone that likes to color. Very pleased with my purchase.

Yes duplicates, but worth it
This is a wordy review, sorry! I'm an amateur artist. Typically I just sketch but every once in a while I draw something worth inking and coloring. I love vivid, saturated colors and for me there are no colored pencils better than Derwent Coloursoft. I've had the same set since I was 18, a whole decade. How have I made them last so long, you might be wondering? I'm very particular what I use them on; only my best creations deserve the Coloursofts. Everything else gets lower-grade pencils. I haven't used every brand under the sun since there are so many, but I've used enough to develop a preference. Derwents are my favorites followed by Faber-Castell. I'm not a Prismacolor fan. I consider Fantasia and Raffine to be mid-grade. I had a very low opinion of Crayola until I was gifted their Color Escapes wooden box set which includes 72 colored pencils, the ideal number in my opinion. Those are quite nice and the lid shelf holds my Sakura Pigma pens perfectly. Now we arrive at a dilemma I'm sure any budding artist has faced at some point: you need more hues! Some people aren't great at blending so the bigger base color selection, the better. You could invest in a set of 120 pencils such as Prismacolor, Faber-Castell Polychromos, Caran d'Ache Pablo, or Derwent Artists, but saving money is probably the reason why you clicked on this Sudee Stile set of 150. That's 30 more colors than the premier brands at a fraction of the cost. The price point absolutely makes this set worth it. They feel similar in quality to the Fantasia and Raffine sets I used to own. I would actually put them on par with Crayola Color Escapes. You get nice saturated color with pressure. Blendability feels just okay to me. One lead flaked off while making my charts but otherwise they laid down smooth. The box is pretty and the trays have little ribbon tabs to help remove them. One tray comes with two pencil sharpeners which I haven't used. FYI you can also use an X-acto or hobby knife to sharpen your pencils to precise points with less risk of lead breakage. These Stiles have hexagon barrels that are numbered 1 - 150 which is sort of convenient, but I would've preferred them to be arranged by value. The caps don't really match the colors and feel like more of an aesthetic. Anyway, I'm sure the question everyone wants answered is if there are duplicates or not. According to my perception, there are several. 27 and 124 are the same orange. 67, 72, 88, and 126 are basically the same rose pink. 69 and 123 are both salmon. 1 and 56 are both true red to me. 49 and 82 are both black, maybe one is charcoal. A couple blues are too similar, and there are like three ochres. But I think this set redeems itself by including a handful of fluorescents and darker earth tones likes berries, woods, and oceanic blues. There could be a better grey range, but you're in luck if you like pink and brown. This set is definitely ideal for adult coloring and casual art projects. For student artists like myself I recommend comparison shopping for the higher-end colored pencil brands that Blick carries, but you can still get these to doodle with.

Very nice Set! Love them! So do the recipients I gifted. 11 sets purchased.
What I liked originally why I tried was the price. Figured take a chance! Came beautifully packaged and went on smoothly. Would not say best I have but, for coloring perfect. First set for myself to test. After receiving I placed an order for two more sets for gifts. Price went up. Ok not extreme amount. Then in days decided good set for nieces and nephews, can all use but even though some siblings I don’t like sharing my sets they can each get a set and adult coloring books to their likes. Christmas Done there. Risky choice with age groups but hey I am the artsy nut Aunt! Worked Out. But when I ordered a few days later price way up again... mattered when I ordered 8 more sets! 11 sets total !!! 3 different prices in a week Ridiculous! You had a good product at a good price that was what attracted me. But may have not got me or others if the price they jumped to! All and all very nice set and box. But my one daughter I bought and gave two different sets, started yours was cheaper ended this set was the most. Think her other set is the better smoother set Now and less expensive. Bad Form Sudee Stile. I am adding to my past review. I now see that the price is higher again yet from most I paid. Also saw the Set was this high in May 2017? Very confusing. But that said I love this set. All 11 sets I purchased are being enjoyed. I have since colored several book pages and also used for original drawing. I think I was lucky and hit a Christmas Sale on all the sets I purchased, as the price now is higher than any of the 11 sets. So feeling happy again with the price I paid on this beautiful set! Would definitely suggest anyone to do a color chart for your use. Everyone’s pressure and angle change the color so having one is beneficial. Also helps you to get used to any product or medium. Some of the problems I read in reviews simply did not experience with these. Packaging was Awesome! I have many brands of pencils and other type of art supplies. I would definitely purchase these again. But should be set for now! Lol one spare for me as I forgot one kid I had another gift ordered for. Oops. Glad it happened.

Lots of colors, decent quality...make sure to work from swatches!
I am not an art student, just a hobbyist, and I wanted a set of pencils that were fairly good quality and with a good selection of colors without breaking the bank. This is exactly that. The set of 150 come in trays in a larger box, suitable to give as a gift. It includes two sharpeners. The pencils have silver barrels, color swatches on the ends, and identifying numbers, but no color names or descriptions. I can live without names, but the numbers are at minimum a must. Swatch out the colors yourself to see what you are dealing with since even my scanned swatches don't really show that some colors (024, 003, and 023) are bright fluorescent, or that the white pencil, 053, puts down a nice bit of pigment - they fade out in the scan. Also the ends of many of the pencils seem to be tipped in a color that is mostly a suggestion :P In one of my pictures you will see pencil #140 as it lays down in a Cranson XL sketchbook, and the end color on the pencil itself... Surprise! Also as some have noted in reviews, there are several colors that are very close to others - for instance in less than bright light, you will have difficulty telling the dark browns apart, or the charcoal greys. Which brings up another thing - Lots of natural and earth tones! Yay! The quirks of this set hardly bother me - its 150 colored pencils that lay down color nicely. I had one core fail on me while I was swatching it, but it sharpened back to a good point easily. I use mixed media paper mostly, and used some pressure to create the color swatch page. My main quibble is that the pencils aren't in any particular color family order. They are all over the place and you will have to figure it out and reorder them on your own. UPDATE: More cores have failed on me... Quite frustrating. The last one didn't appear to ever have had a solid core, and the shaft was a tortured bit of wood that was barely held together, only to shred to bits when you try to sharpen it. I use a Prismacolor sharpener, which works on Premiers which are a much softer core, without destroying those.

Excellent set - esp for the price
150 colors - just great! Agree with others that there's little relationship between the painted color on the pencil's end and the actual tint the pencil writes. So I do highly recommend creating a color key for each pencil in the set. Also, the first thing I have done is to reorganize the pencils by color in a 180-space case available through Amazon rather than by number sequence (as they came in their very nice box). All told, I would definitely purchase this set again.

Very creamy.
These were exactly what I was looking for! I'm not a professional. I thought the color variations were lovely I really enjoyed how they colored. The only problem I had was identifing the color I wanted. They are numbered and the only way to see the color is by the swatch they provide at the end of the pencil however the color looks different on paper so it requires a lot of patience and shifting through to find what you want. Other than that I thought they were lovely

Great for the price.
These pencils are wonderful for the beginner and for aspiring artists, I'd say just below the prisma brand and great on performance. They are not hard like other inexpensive pencils, colors are not as intense as prisma but are good enough for creating decent art work. I really love the packaging, it would be a beautiful gift for someone and I don't even want to take them out of their original box. I use them for my art students and couldn't be happier with the array of colors, the number of pencils, quality and price.
