Quality Food My Cat Always Enjoys
My cat really likes the Rabbit Nuggets. The only challenge is they are very difficult to crumble (more so than Turkey or Beef & Salmon varieties). I've found the method below to be the easiest & most effective way to prepare the rabbit nuggets. Hydrating & Serving Rabbit Nuggets: Place water on boil (I use an electric kettle) Place 1 or 2 nuggets into small bowl Pour boiling water over nugget(s) till completely submerged, soak for at least 1 minute Using a fork & knife, cut nugget(s) in 2, allow to soak a bit longer (this way you can also see if the inside of the nugget is sufficiently hydrated) Transfer nugget pieces to serving plate (leaving behind the water in the bowl), use fork & knife to cut into bite-size pieces for your cat By the time the nuggets are ready to serve, the temperature is just right for eating:)

Quality food
I've been buying this for a while now mostly in store. This option seems a bit stiffer than what's available in store. It still breaks into crumbles but it makes me think this formula is slightly different from what local vendors is selling. Food is quality. There isn't any mystery ingridents. Most importantly there isn't a single gum included in this. It is a bit smelly when rehydrated. I usually cook this using very hot water or putting it into the microwave for 30 seconds. It's the herring oil that makes the rabbit smell unappealing. Scent really doesn't matter to me as I'm not the one consuming it. My cat loves it. As soon as it's out she's on it. This is also good to be used as a kibble topper. I usually put out half a nugget when being served dry. My girl will eat this before any kibble in her bowl. It also makes for a good treat between full meals or as positive reinforcement of good behavior. Price is high but all freeze dried options is expensive. It makes sense given the process used to pull all the moisture out. Because of the cost I can't make this and other freeze dried options the main part of my girl's diet. It would be entirely too expensive. The way I serve these the bag usually last about a week which is mostly dry and half a nugget as again used as a kibble topper. Overall this an excellent buy.

Beware of contaminated product!
I've been using this product for maybe 10 years and have recently purchased a bad batch(es) of the freeze dried rabbit nuggets. I contacted the manufacturer directly and after asking me for the information on the bag like the batch ID, date, etc. they apologized and sent me a paper coupon in the mail to purchase a new bag at a brick and mortar retailer of which does not exist (or ceases to sell) Primal products. I've contacted 2 stores and was told that they flat out refuse to sell Primal products anymore. Getting back to my coupon, it was worthless. The vendor here on Amazon was very nice and sent me a new bag. Upon opening another bag (can't tell if it was my replacement or the other unopened bag that I already had), the nuggets were even worse than in my photo. They are completely black on the inside and smell horrible. I've throw away at least 75% of the bag, taking a risk of the ones that seemed OK but am nervous about those. I've only used three nuggets of the supposed good ones though. My cat luckily seems to be in good health still. I am no longer a customer for this brand name and will move onto another product.

The best.
My two cats love it. An easy way to feed raw, novel protein. Just crumble it over wet food , or crumble it and add a little water, or other liquid ,to moisten.

Amazing
Switched to this for my Sphynx cat because of stomache issues and has changed my life ( for now anyways) Either way, reading the ingredients I know more of the things listed than I would in my own food. Only downfalls- little pricey and a little time consuming, I’d do anything for these cats though

How to get them started -- the old "hairball-paste-on-the-paws" trick!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: We had been feeding our cat fresh, whole-ground rabbit from a delivery service in the Netherlands, and we wanted to find a similar service in the U.S. Specifically, we were looking for whole-ground rabbit without by-products, fillers, or preservatives. We would love to find it fresh for delivery, but we don’t think that is available for delivery in the U.S., at least not affordably. The cat is 10 pounds, 10 years old, and super alpha, so I knew it would be tricky to get him started on it. I started with one nugget in the food processor (I bought the "Secura Electric Coffee Grinder and Spice Grinder with two bowls” specifically for this, and it’s perfect!) and it blended to a powder in less than 5 seconds. I added 1.5 tablespoons of Bone Broth to rehydrate. The first time I presented it to him, he wasn’t interested and walked away. However, the second time, I tried the “hairball-paste-on-the-paws” trick, which worked. Again, he walked off, but after licking the smears off nugget pate off the tops of his front paws, he looked at the bowl, thought about it for a few seconds, came back to the bowl, and dug in! He ate the whole dish! We’ll gradually work up to the full 5-6 nuggets per day, supplemented with 1/4 cup of rabbit kibble during the day.
