Band installation is easy, no tools needed to install / remove (but look at the band you're replacing cause factory bands usually need tools). Canvas is great for getting wet / sweaty. Wore for at least 150 days (workouts, underwater, even a half dozen trips through the ocean) and the only reason I'm replacing is it didn't hold up to really high sulphur hot springs. I am hard on my daily wear watch. This band is almost exactly one year old, it and rarely comes off my wrist. I sweat in it, I hike in it, it comes in the ocean, the dirt, the sand, I sleep in it, I shower in it, I work outside in it, I chop wood, I dig holes, you get the point. Have I had MORE durable watch straps? Yes. Have I had less? Oh yeah. For the money, I am perfectly happy with how this has lasted.
