How does the shoulder belt clip work? It it attached to the seat somehow?

The red belt clip is adhered to the rear of the Chicco GoFit Booster seat using a web fabric strap. The clip attaches to the vehicle shoulder strap using the open slot in the clip. The instructions demonstrate the proper placement of the clip. The only problem is that the position does not stay constant. Whenever the child reapplies the seat belt, the clip must be readjusted which should be done properly by an adult. I bought this booster because of the shoulder belt clip, but it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. My seven year old grandson doesn't ride with me frequently so I have some time to work with another way to make the strap stay more firmly in place, perhaps adding an 'S' type buckle. Hi, this booster works for kids until what age? Also, is just a waist seat belt enough to secure this booster?

My 6 yr old granddaughter is using it and there is plenty of room. We use it with the shoulder/lap belt combined. I wouldn't use any booster with just the lap belt.

Do you have to meet weight recommendation? My daughter is light for her age. She’s 8 years old 36 pounds and meets height recommendation.

I'm sorry, are you sure she's 8 and 36 pounds? That would have her off the bottom of the charts for growth. 5% is 45 pounds at that age. If she's that size/age, I think you'll need to assess whether this is a viable seat for her.
