Beautiful Christmas project
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved the felt set with BUCILLA appliques to make the Christmas wreath. Bring all the pre-cut pieces, threads, beads and sequins needed to complete the project, plus clear and easy-to-follow instructions. The quality of the felt and materials is very good, the colors are vivid and the decorative details make the final result really special. It is a project that requires time and patience, but the process is entertaining and the result is totally worth it.

Beautiful and fun Bucilla Wreath
This kit was so much fun to sew. There was such a variety of candies that it was not boring. I didn’t get any red beads to go on red sequins but called the number on the package and they sent replacements. I didn’t make mine quite like the directions. I sewed all the leaves on the base and then made all the candies. When they were finished I sewed them on the leaves and base. Then I sewed the front to back base together in the center. Then added the cardboard and stuffing. Cut the cardboard a little smaller than the wreath to allow for stitching and stuffing. (About 1/4 inch smaller on center circle and 1/2 inch smaller on outer edge is what I did.)Then using sewing clips I clipped the outer circle of the wreath. I sewed all pieces on with double thread. Important: Do not sew any candy or leaf too close to an edge or you will have trouble sewing it together. Finally on YouTube Jennifer Good has a great video putting it all together.

Five Stars for Quality But Attaching Ornaments to Wreath was Yucky
What I liked: The kit seemed of pretty good quality except for the white felt. It was too thin for my liking. Also some of the red beads seemed sort of cheap and thin compared to beads I’ve saved from much older craft kits. I found the instructions good and easy to follow even though I had to get out my magnifying glass to decode some of the small symbols. I can’t sit in front of the TV without doing something and I enjoyed making these ornaments. I like embroidery. The beading was slow but steady. I had to get a small beading needle and also use my fabulous Clover brand needle threader to get the single strand of floss through the eye of the needles I used. What I didn’t like: I really really struggled to attach the completed ornaments to the wreath. Another reviewer suggested attaching the ornaments to the wreath before assembling the wreath to the cardboard. That sounds like a great idea except I’m not sure how that would work. It would also be tough sewing the back of the wreath to the front with the ornaments hanging over the edge. The problem for me was putting the threaded needle in the back of the stuffed ornament and somehow getting leverage into the padded wreath background, all the time with the stiff center in the wreath stopping the needle. I could get the ornament attached but then I had to get it stabilized and oriented as shown in my final product. I found a 3.5 inch doll/upholstery needle helped me. It took me a really long time to attach the ornaments. I kept wishing I had used a stiff stabilzer in the center of the wreath that my needle could have pierced so I could have come out the back of the wreath. If I weren’t so durn picky I would have hot glued the ornaments to the wreath!!! I also didn’t like having to locate a piece of cardboard measuring 15 inches by 15 inches. I gave up and used an old vinyl placement that I could cut with scissors. I had to trim off the edges to get it to fit in the felt wreath. I also didn’t like that I spent hours embroidering the holly leaves only to have them mostly covered up with the ornaments but oh well, had to be done. I also didn’t like that some of the supplies were skimpy. I ran out of white embroidery thread. This was NOT a problem for me but might be for others who don’t save everything like I do. I also ran out of some sequins and beads and once again not a problem for me. No, this kid is NOT for kids! Maybe for the kid in you! I made this as a labor of love for my sister who likes my handcrafted felt ornaments but I assure you that I will NOT be making a wreath like this again!!!!

A kit for those who love handwork. It is all hand stitching.
This is my 3rd kit and it is insanely beautiful. Please don't try to do this kit if you don't have the patience and time to sit and sew hundreds of little pieces onto the backgrounds. You will get frustrated. But, personally I love doing handwork. I have been hand sewing for years and years between hand quilting and hand embroidery, etc. If you go to youtube and type in Bucilla Kits, there is a lady who gives step by step instructions for the kit she is making, but the directions pertain to all kits. This kit will take about 3+ weeks worth of working in the evenings. Do not try this if you don't have the time to spare. There are probably many partially finished kits in boxes hiding under some beds where they will languish forever. Don't let yours be one. Finish it!!! You will be pleased and surprised at how professional it looks.. The kit calls for cardboard to use to make the wreath firm. I am using a piece of white foam core board available in many dollar stores. While I do follow all the instructions to a T when doing these kits, this time I am going to make the gingerbread people and all the candies and things and have them ready to put on when I finally put the wreath base on. Do not cut out everything even if you feel the urge to. I keep each color of the felt pieces in a plastic zip bag till I have to use some of the pieces, and the directions and main picture in another and the threads in another. Makes it easy. I also bought a little holder for the sequins. It makes it easy when you have everything all organized. Hope you have good luck.

Beautiful result but the kit didn't have enough thread
This is my second Bucilla felt kit and I have to say that both of them had inadequate quantity of necessary thread. I wonder if they counted how much of anything one would need for completion and I don't think this was done. Thus, quality control is questionable. I ran out of light green thread early on after completing all the leaves and the two gingerbread people. I needed at least one more 6-thread rope to complete the rest. I'm a very careful stitcher, I use up every inch of thread and have still ran out this fast. I also ran out of pink thread, red beads and red sequins. Thankfully I had similar ones leftover in my beading stash. Also, the needle included didn't go through the beads. The beads are pretty low quality irregularly shaped with irregular holes, therefore I needed to buy a real beading needle which is super thin with a narrow eye. The other Bucilla felt kit I tried also had bad quality breads and scratched sequins, so I think it's an issue across the whole range in this brand. You'll also need a thick sturdy piece of cardboard for the wreath, and some fiberfill, which is a non issue. I used two q-tips instead of the chenille sticks and that was good enough. The instructions are understandable, you just need to read them carefully and follow exactly step by step. Overall my resulted wreath turned out looking exactly as expected, other than the changes I had to make in order to complete everything due to missing thread quantity.

Beautiful felt kits
I am so glad I ordered this Wreath. I could not wait to get it. This is my 2nd wreath, I did the owl wreath. This kit was the 4th kit I did! I'm addicted. They are soo much fun. They are tedious and take time, but when they are done they are worth the effort. I just wanted to offer a little advice or trick. I have come to find out if you secure the 1st. sequin and bead with a knot, the row will not fall off. I have started this wreath, and I am sure that it will be just as beautiful as the it looks in the picture. The kit came earlier than expected. I will repost when the wreath is done! 10/25/18 I finished this kit! I love all the colors, the wreath is so bright and cheerful! I had soo much fun making all the candies. The directions were very easy! I went step by step. I did the leaves first, then I sewed them on. I then make the gingerbread boy and girl. then the cookies and candies. It was very easy to attach them. I would recommend this wreath if you love to sew and create beautiful products that will last for many years. I am fairly new to Bucilla Felt Kits, and I am addicted.

Detailed, worth of your time project.
My mom completes Bucilla stockings. I was looking through her catalog and saw this one. Recently got married and decided to collect gingerbread man and woman. This is one of the the cutest but most detailed craft I've ever made. I did a few modifications, the beauty of arts and crafts. I had to work on this for 2 months, on and off. I know I could have finished it in less than that. I must admit since it's too much detail, it felt like it was taking forever to complete and I was getting a bit discouraged halfway through. However, the end product is very pleasing! Even hubby asked all the time when it would be finished. We both love it! I would totally recommend, especially if you like detailed craft. If you're busy but would like to have one by Christmas I would purchase one now and work parts of this per month. ;)
