Works perfectly to keep dogs off the couch. The ends slid nicely into the ends of the couch cushions to hold in place. Color matches with my couch as well so that was nice and easy to fold up and store underneath when you are home.

My dog always goes on the couch. I didn't want him to go on my new reclining couch. This works great to keep him off and it is easy to put aside when I am sitting on the couch.

I love this thing! I am a pet sitter and do not allow dogs on my furniture. It has made keeping them off my couch a breeze! It folds up and stores under the couch easily when not in use. I have yet to have a dog try and pull it off the couch or mess with it in anyway. They mostly sniff at it and then leave it alone. I have had zero issues with dogs on the couch since then. It was worth every penny! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their pets off the furniture!

We bought these because my senior dog had acl surgery and shouldnt be jumping up on the couch. She still thinks she's young so she will try. We don't want her to hurt herself when we arent home. Before we found these, we were using chairs and furniture to block her access and it was a pain to do everyday. These are much easier, look nicer, and store away much better. And we can take them with us when we travel or someone else watches her. It's the perfect solution. Only downside is I felt a certain way about paying $100 for 2 of these. I really don't think they are worth that much. And I think they charge that much only because people need this solution. I personally think the price of one should be what it costs to get 2. Just sucks that people like me who really need this, have to pay that much. 😅

Light weight. Easy to extend or collapse at any section of your couch. You can just move it over a little to sit down. In this way it still keeps dogs off of the unoccupied area of the couch. Flexible like a caterpillar - my couch has a 90 degree curve in it. You can either push the ends down into couch or lay the ends kind of over. I thought it would be more like a spring to keep it in place. Glad it ISN’T. Easy to use. Has kept the dogs off so far. I really like it!!

So I've tried a lot of different things before this to keep my dogs off my couch. I used boxes. I used inflatable toys. I positioned lots of pillows. The problem was that all of those "solutions" created more problems because it was a hassle to take them on and off the couch. In the end my solutions keep the dogs off the couch, but also kept me off the couch. This unit, while pricy for a glorified expanding hamper, gets the job done. It sets up and strikes down easily. I have a three seat sofa. I pull out the sidewall from the very end and move it to the division between my seat and the middle seat with ease allowing me to get back on my couch. It keeps my dogs off with ease. If they knew better they could easily defeat this, but psychologically they're set to avoid mode. If you've got dogs and want to keep them off the couch get this.

About 4 or 5 months ago, I adopted a dog from the shelter. She was almost 6 years old and had been through many homes. This was her last chance, so there's no way I could return her. I soon realized why she had been through so many (aside from being abused at her first home). She destroyed my furniture when I wasn't at home. My couch and chair - shredded and peed on. I sat and cried - full sobbing. They couldn't be salvaged. A dog crate was not an option - she has some pretty serious issues. I managed to find a good deal online and ordered a new couch and chairs. To keep her off of them when I'm not home, I was putting my kitchen stools on the couch every time I left the house. It worked but it was a royal pain. Dragging the stools from the kitchen and back every single day, or just leaving them in the living room - very frustrating. Somehow, I stumbled across the Couch Defender. I figured I'd give it a try. The price was reasonable enough that if it didn't work, or if the dog destroyed it, it wasn't going to bankrupt me. I've been using this product for about a month now. I could not be happier!! The dog will not go anywhere near this thing. When fully extended, it really looks quite large. It extends the full length of my couch and the ends tuck in between the arms of the couch and the cushions. It fits quite well and there's no chance of it coming off of the couch. When folded, it couldn't be more than an inch and a half thick and I can slide it right down between couch and end table, or under the couch. It comes with a bag to store it in. I don't use the bag, since I use this every day and there's really no point in packing it away. This product has saved my sanity. I honestly can't give it enough praise. And the dog is doing much better now. A little training and a lot of patience goes a long way.
