Encourages cuttings to grow roots more quickly than other rooting hormones I have used.
I am 73 and my interest in propagating plants of all kinds began when I was in grade school. Since then, I have propagated a multitude of different varieties, both with and without using rooting hormones. Like all other living things, they have a desire to survive. The rooting hormone, though, is not a magic powder. You have to learn how to prepare cuttings, and each plant species can differ in the method or rooting medium used. Many of the soft stemmed plants root easily with or without a rooting hormone - for example basil, African violet leaves, or others with soft stems. For this type of cutting, it's a good idea to put a gallon baggie over the plant and pot to create a greenhouse effect, especially if the cutting has larger leaves. For plants that have woody stems, a rooting hormone helps a lot in the production of roots before the leaves dry out. For all cutting, there are basic techniques that help to ensure success. Don't try to root a cutting that is too large as the leaves will die before the cutting can grow enough roots to support them. In general, a cutting should be no larger than 6-7 inches as the leaves should be removed from the bottom 3 inches or so. New roots will start growing at the leaf nodes (where the leaves come out of the stems). The very bottom of the cutting should be cut at a 45 degree angle as it allows more area for water absorption by the cutting. Soft stem cuttings do well in potting soil, but woody cuttings do better in a soil-less medium that retains moisture without being soggy or wet. A soil-less medium, such as coconut coir, also drains well. I don't recommend rooting cuttings in water since water roots are thicker and more fibrous than soil roots. When plants rooted in water are planted in soil, they have to grow new roots to adapt to living in soil. This usually isn't a problem for soft stemmed cutting that easily grow roots, but it can kill woody or hard-stemmed varieties. Since using this rooting hormone, I have rooted 36 Genovese basil cuttings, 12 pineapple sage cuttings, 5 rosemary cuttings, 5 thyme cuttings, 3 green sage cuttings, 2 lemon basil cuttings, and a number of cherry tomato cuttings. 100% of these cutting survived and grew. Prior to using this rooting hormone, I still had a good success rate with most of these, but the success rate was not quite as good. I also, had not tried to root some of the woody cutting, such as lemon basil, prior to getting this rooting hormone. By using this hormone, both of my lemon basil cuttings grew. To put all of this in a nutshell, a rooting hormone of any kind is not going to magically work without proper preparation of the cutting, consideration of the plant species, and consideration of the best rooting medium for the species. All things considered, I would definitely recommend this rooting hormone as an aid to successfully rooting cuttings of any plant species. To use this rooting hormone, simply prepare the cutting as described above, moisten the end of the cutting, dip it into the rooting powder, tap off the excess, insert the cutting at least 3-4 inches into the soil in a hole made by a pencil or potato baking stake, water until water comes out the bottom of the pot, and cover the cutting and pot with a gallon baggie that has holes cut at the top for air circulation. If done properly, the cutting may wilt the first couple of days, but it will come back as the roots develop. If you grow herbs outdoors in the summer and want to have them available for the winter, this is a great way to produce new plants that can also be planted outdoors next summer. You will also have fresh herbs for the winter. I have included pictures of a few of the plants I have rooted using this hormone. UPDATE 7/27/21: I have been using this rooting hormone for over a year, and root quite a few cuttings rather than starting plants from seed since this produces larger plants more quickly. In this time, I have used less than half of the jar of rooting hormone. I have found that it is not at all necessary to dampen the stem of the cutting before dipping it into the powder. More than enough sticks to the stem, and it is still necessary to tap off the excess. Using this rooting hormone, I have had 100% success in rooting all of my cuttings. The latest cuttings I have rooted are thyme, lemon thyme, pineapple sage, rosemary, basil, Greek oregano, spicy oregano, Italian oregano, garden sage, and a few others. Rooting new plants with this hormone has been so successful, I would never use another one. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update the review if I have other helpful ideas.

Unlock the Magic of Plant Propagation
I recently purchased Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed! As someone who loves to garden and propagate plants, I was excited to give this product a try. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The packaging was eye-catching, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I decided to try it out on a few cuttings from my favorite houseplant, a pothos. I dipped the cut ends in the hormone powder and planted them in a pot with fresh soil. After a few weeks, I noticed tiny new roots starting to form! I was ecstatic! And not only that, but the new growth on my pothos cuttings was thriving. They were growing faster than any other cuttings I had previously attempted to propagate. But the real test came when I used it on a more challenging plant - a fiddle leaf fig. Now, if you know anything about fiddle leaf figs, you know they can be tricky to propagate. But with Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone, it was a breeze! I had roots starting to form within a week, and now, a few months later, I have a beautiful new fiddle leaf fig plant thriving in my home. Not only is this product incredibly effective, but it's also affordable and easy to use. And the best part? It's kind of funny, in a way. I mean, who would have thought that a little powder could be so powerful? It's almost like magic! In fact, I've even started joking around with my fellow gardening friends about the power of this rooting hormone. Whenever we get together to swap cuttings, I always pull out my Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone and say something like, "Watch out, folks, I've got the secret weapon!" It always gets a laugh, but it's also true - this product has become my secret weapon for successful plant propagation. And it's not just the effectiveness of the product that makes it so appealing. The fact that it's so easy to use is also a huge plus. I don't need any special equipment or expertise to use it - I simply dip the cut end of my plant into the powder and plant it as usual. It's quick, simple, and effective. And for someone like me, who loves to experiment with new plant varieties and propagation methods, that's exactly what I need. I also appreciate that Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone is safe to use on a wide variety of plants, from succulents to fruit trees. It's always reassuring to know that I can rely on one product for all my propagation needs, rather than having to buy multiple products for different types of plants. In addition to being effective and easy to use, another thing I love about Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone is that it's eco-friendly. The product is made from natural ingredients, which means it's safe for the environment and won't harm the plants I'm trying to grow. I've also noticed that since I started using this product, I've been able to reduce my plant waste. Instead of tossing out cuttings that I thought would never grow roots, I can now give them a second chance with the help of this rooting hormone. It's not only cost-effective, but it also helps me to reduce my carbon footprint by reducing my plant waste. And speaking of cost-effectiveness, I have to mention that a little goes a long way with this product. The 2-ounce container is plenty for several uses, even if you're propagating a lot of plants. So, not only is it effective, easy to use, and eco-friendly, but it's also a great value for the money. Overall, I would give Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone a 5 out of 5-star rating. It's a game-changer for any gardener looking to propagate their plants successfully. And the stories I can tell about my newfound plant propagation success are sure to entertain my fellow gardening enthusiasts. So, if you want to grow new plants from cuttings and have some fun while doing it, I highly recommend giving this product a try. You won't be disappointed!

So Far So Good.
I'll change to 5 stars if it actually works but you can't beat the price which I got cheaper than normal as a Amazon add-on item. For those trying this out, be sure to NOT put the cuttings in direct sun! The leaves will wilt, turn black, and die. And do not keep them indoors during the day either. I put my cuttings in 4" pots and I put all the pots in a plastic bin with no cover. Some people cover them and even enclose them to retain moisture. I do not. I just water them when needed. Each morning i put them under my deck stairs where they get plenty of daylight but no direct sun. And I take them in each night so them pesky possums, skunks, and raccoons won't rip them up. It takes a LONG time to get roots, like 2 months, so be patient. My cuttings are all 1 week old and none of them show any signs of dying. I'm not going to disturb them and check for roots until the 2 months is up. I'll give a update when the time comes.

Quality and value for money.
Very happy with this product three simple steps to cutting and starting your new cutting and starter plan. First make the right cut never cut from the main growth it can cause dwarfing to happen. Cut from a smaller growing starter off its original plan. Go down two to three nodes make your cut right below the growth node. Wet the tip of the cutting dip it in the hormone shake off excess. Thirdly most important make sure the amendment that you're placing your starter plant into the correct amendment for the plant itself. I used to paralyte Cocoa mulch, you do not need to worry about feeding the plant it is going to do all that on its own from the hormone and the plant's ability to make roots. Now never over water you will ruin it. lastly place a bag over the pot, place that pot in indirect light, not in full light. Only indirect light for a couple weeks lightly water. I use a spray bottle, because it's much harder to over water with a spray bottle. FYI, if you all have a ruby red and you're making a starter like myself remember never cut from the main main growth because ruby red hydrangeas grow exceptionally slow and if you cut from the main plant it will cause dwarfism or slow growth basically you'll have a short little shrub and one spot of a hydrangea. Anyways I have lots of this product left it works great it was easy to use and did I mention it was the cheapest of all the other ones that I could find. If someone's complaining about this product it's because they're not following the three simple steps when creating a starter plant and they're not looking into what environment you're cutting needs to go into. FYI when you use the bag method on a starter be sure to stick like a chopstick or or something in the soil next to the plant so the plastic bag doesn't fall down on the plant. You also can use a large water bottle, cut in half you put the soil/amendment in the bottom part, put the starter plant in the soil or the amendment whatever you're using. Then you place the water bottle top back into itself, yeah put the lid on it and voila in this case you want to poke holes in the bottle. Easy to use value for the money great product.

The hormone didn’t harm my plants, but there wasn't much of a noticeable improvement
I had high hopes for the Garden Safe Take Root Rooting Hormone, but honestly, I didn't see much difference with or without it. I know there are positive reviews out there, but my experience was more neutral. Here’s what I did: I took two stems from the same mother plant—one went straight into water without the hormone, and the other I dipped in the hormone and planted in a pot with sandy soil from my garden.I get that this wasn't the most scientific experiment since the sand/soil would have some nutrients and microbes that water wouldn't, but I expected the one with the hormone to have some extra boost. In reality, there wasn’t much of a noticeable difference between the two. On the plus side, it didn’t harm my plants like some other people mentioned in their reviews. I’m not ready to give a full thumbs up or down just yet. For now, my take is neutral—I’m planning to do a more controlled test in the future and will update my review then.

Super easy
I've used it on a few clippings and the vast majority have turned out great. I was able to grow a great houseplant for my mom from a small clipping. I tried using this on a rose, but it didn't work.... I'm pretty sure it was an error on my end. Absolutely love the ease of applying, just wet your your clipping and dip. Super easy

HONEST REVIEW BASED UPON MY FINDINGS FOR A 10 MONTH TRIAL
…EDIT…PLEASE READ THROUGH TO THE RESULTS OF MY EXPERIMENT, AND LISTED IMPORTANT DETAILS. I PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT LAST APRIL, ABOUT 10 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE WAITED TO WRITE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE I NEEDED TO PROVE WEATHER THIS PRODUCTS WORKS OR NOT. I HAVE GIVEN IT A LONG TIME SO I CAN TAKE NOTES, COMPARE THE DATA, LOOKED AT GROWTH RATES WITH AND WITHOUT THE ROOTING HORMONE. NOW, I CAN GIVE YOU ALL AN HONEST REVIEW BASED ON THE FACTS CONCERNING THIS PRODUCT. I HAVE BEEN PROPAGATING WITH AND WITHOUT THE PRODUCT. HERE ARE HONEST FACTS: *INSTRUCTIONS ARE SIMPLE * THE LEAVES I TREATED WITH THIS PRODUCT SHOWED GROWTH THAT WAS **QUICKER AND LARGER** THAN THE LEAVES I DID NOT TREAT, BUT PUT IN SOIL WITH THE TREATED LEAVES. * I HAVE LEARNED THAT THE BASIC GUIDELINES NEED TO BE APPLIED TO EACH AFRICAN VIOLET STEM (I grow African violets exclusively) Because THIS IS NOT A SHORT CUT FOR YOU. YOU NEED TO ENSURE YOU CUT THE STEMS AT 45 degree angle, etc BEFORE YOU TREAT THE STEM. * ENSURE YOUR HEALTH BY BEING CAREFUL NOT TO INHALE THE PRODUCT. ***RESULTS…THE TREATED LEAVES ABSOLUTELY ACCELERATED THE ROOT FORMATION AND THE LEAVES POPPED UP FROM THE SOIL QUICKER THAN THE LEAVES THAT WERE NOT TREATED. THE UNTREATED ONES STILL GREW, BUT THEY ARE A COUPLE OF STEPS BEHIND THE TREATED ONES!!! I AM UNSURE WHAT NUTRIENTS IT CONTAINS, BUT it MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. ADDITIONALLY, THE JAR WILL LAST FOR QUITE AWHILE BECAUSE A SMALL QUANTITY IS NEEDED TO COVER YOUR STEM. I WAS ALSO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THAT IT HAD NO BAD SMELL TO IT. THIS PRODUCT DOES EXACTLY AS IT ADVERTISES. I SEE SOME REVIEWS THAT DID NOT WAIT AND TEST IT, COMPARE THEIR FINDINGS, AND I FEEL MADE SNAP JUDGEMENTS. THERE IS NO WAY TO TRULY REVIEW THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE I DID. I DID THE WORK AND ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS REVIEW THE REPORT ABOVE! I AM TRULY ENJOYING THE BENEFITS OF THIS ROOTING HORMONE. I HAVE GROWN A HUGE NUMBER OF BABY AFRICAN VIOLETS!!! ***HAPPY GROWING!!! ****OVERALL, AND AS TO MY REVIEW ….**THE PRODUCT WORKS!!!** ROOTS AND BABY LEAVES SHOWED UP FASTER WHEN COMPARED TO UNTREATED LEAVES. REMEMBER, THERE ARE SOME LEAVES THAT SIMPLY WONT PRODUCE BABIES BECAUSE NOT ALL DO WHETHER TREATED OR NOT. **ITS NOT A MAGIC POWER!!!** SINCE THIS PRODUCT IS PROVEN FROM MY TESTING…NEARLY A YEAR OF TESTING…., I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ROOTING HORMONE. THE AFFORDABLE PRICE IS A BONUS. ***BUY WITHOUT RESERVATION*** A++
