15S Satin Mahogany Spruce Top Ukulele (KA-15S-S)

I'm a beginner and have no previous musical knowledge other than a recorder in elementary school. I cannot read music and you don't have to. Tuning can sometimes be difficult but there is a nice FREE tuner on the Kala app. I've learned so far Ukes need constant tuning. if you want to learn the chords to more songs on the app, yes you have to pay for it (you can find song tutorials you want on youtube for free) so that wasn't a deal breaker for me. The Ukulele itself is gorgeous! I chose the Spruce top since I liked the two tone and the detail around the sound hole is very pretty. Feels like great quality. My friend whos been playing the Ukulele for years starting playing on mine and she said she liked this one better than her Lanakai brand. I didn't include a picture because it looks exactly as advertised. I love it!

Pros: Sound quality is great (and I haven’t even tuned it yet!), strings are easier/less painful to strum than my previous ukulele, great quality for the price Cons: Have to pay more to get a case (which makes sense... so I guess there really aren’t many cons) I am new to the ukulele, and I bought a different one prior to this. The reason I switched was because my strumming finger hurt when I was strumming the old one. I tried my friends ukulele and realized that hers was way easier to strum. I bought a Kala because my instructor recommended it. After strumming this ukulele one time, I realized how poor the sound quality was in my old ukulele. It was a huge difference! This ukulele is definitely worth the price if you’re serious about playing the ukulele!

Oh my goodness, I just love it 🥰 I changed my strings to Pepe Romero’s Low G ukulele strings. The sound and playability is just awesome! I love the unique sound of the spruce top! Zero complaints!! Tune-ability and tune accuracy are top notch quality. Sustain is great String hight is perfect for finger picking and playing all your chords. No adjustments necessary. Top quality, right out of the box. The quality of your strings makes a huge difference. I am not a fan of the strings that it came with. I feel that they give a dull sound. They didn’t give this awesome little instrument justice. If I didn’t get Pepe Romero strings, then I’d get D’Addario strings which are not expensive at all and sound amazing!

I bought this for my niece-in-law. I have a few Ukulele's from Kala - they all suffer from one thing - they sound good and loud. With that experience I bought her this one and when it arrived I played it for her as a demonstration. She loved it - and as an experienced player - I LOVED IT! Kala never let's me down - and this is a very good playing, good feeling Soprano Ukulele. Perfect for yourself or as a gift (good student level Ukulele - Durable, forgiving, and most of all - it plays and sounds good). I do plan on getting 5 more (4 Sopranos and 1 Concert sized - all of them Kala) - each for budding young musicians in the family.

Bought as a gift. Sounds and looks great. High quality.

I'm a novice so that that into account. C string can be a bit tough to tune.

Ordered this one because of the good reviews, but frankly it feels thin and cheap and the tone is thin as well. Switched to Martin strings because they draw out the warmth in tone but it didn't make a difference. Perhaps the biggest complaint though is that it won't stay in tune - this was true with both sets of strings. Usually it takes a couple of weeks for strings to keep in tune, but it's months later and I still have to keep fiddling with it because it falls out of tune so quickly. It's not an expensive uke so I know I can't expect the world, but that also means I don't want to expend $$ and effort trying to fix it.

Really lovely ukulele with nice warm but bright sound, a pleasure to hold and play. I'm a beginner but wanted a reasonable instrument and this is perfect. I love the design so pretty and natural looking. You will need to tune the strings quite a bit to start with but this I'm sure is usual. The light colour, design around the sound hole, is really attractive

Well made and excellent value for a beginners ukulele.
