I like this dual laser digital thermometer. It fits my usage intent better than the single laser digital thermometers. I.E. I want to know the average temp of the entire cooking surface before I dump my ingredients upon it. I want to know the average temp of the entire cat heating pads for all of my many outside cats, without having to bend over to check them all by hand. This unit gives me a better idea of the temp of an entire thing than just one small point on it. Works great and pretty accurate.

I didn't exactly need this, because I have a meat thermometer that works pretty well. But I couldn't resist it for the kitchen. Cool thing is, it works on a lot of stuff. And very quickly. Want to know how hot the grill is for that Tri Tip? Or how cold your beer is while you're waiting. In a matter of milliseconds, you have your answer. The battery door is a bit funky to figure out and could be easier, but everything else on this product exceeded my expectations, including the dual laser for additional accuracy. Five stars.

Good for checking woodstove and chimney temps.
