Aster Blend

Very good for an instant decaf. Doesn’t match my usual single origin pour over routine, but it’s convenient when traveling.

I bought the decaf. My experience is that this instant coffee is low enough in caffeine and low enough in acid to work perfectly as a night-time hot beverage. 10 ounces of liquid is way too much for my tastes, I pour (by eye) about 6 ounces of Lactaid Skim Milk into a large ceramic mug, empty the packet of decaf into it and pop it right in the microwave using the "Beverage -- 1 Cup" setting. I don't even stir, and I don't use any water. When the microwave bell chimes, in about a minute, I use one of the little battery-operated milk frother wands sold here on Amazon (I like Aerolatte, but any brand would do I think) to both stir the coffee and froth the milk a little, in one operation of a few seconds. I get something like a misto, with no thought, no effort ... I don't really take my eye off the TV (which I can see from the kitchen). Not hitting PAUSE on the remote while I spend time grinding decaf beans, pulling decaf shots, and steaming milk has saved my marriage. This technique does not quite match the taste of my full coffee ritual, but it is close and perfectly acceptable for an average night at home, very relaxing cup, very low in calories, no fat.. BTW, I don't add any sugar, but if you do, I think you will need to stir with a real spoon ... the frother does OK to stir the coffee, but it failed when I added sugar for a guest who wanted to try this idea out.

Excellent instant coffee taste like fresh brewed

Expensive and packets arrived and coffee was all stuck together and is a mess. Doesn’t taste that great either. Feel ripped off for the price as well.

My favorite instant decaf has been discontinued so I decided to try this one. The price is clearly much higher than any other instant decaf I've seen, but this coffee claims to be decaffeinated using the best-in-class Swiss Water method, so that's something. The coffee arrived without any special packaging, just a cardboard box with 6 single serving paper packets. Inside these packets I found coffee "chips" (see the photo) which is what happens when the coffee is stored at high temperatures and/or humidity. Since other reviews mentioned the same thing, it is clear that this coffee is either stored or shipped incorrectly resulting in this problem. As for the taste, after spending a long time stirring the coffee "chip" which slowly melts and dissolves in hot water, I can say that it tastes OK, but definitely not great. This may or may not be due to the fact that the coffee melted inside the packets because it was stored or shipped incorrectly. So, this is a hard pass for me. I still gave it 3 stars since the packaging is environmentally friendly, and it's a rare thing to find instant decaf made with the Swiss Water method.

I love the taste I just wish it wasn't so expensive! An indulgence for sure but it tastes wonderful.

Smooth coffee.

Used a packet of this in a 12 oz cup of milk warmed in the microwave. Not bad. I use instant decaf coffee when traveling and found a good one in Australia but it's extremely expensive to order from the US. Very happy to find this coffee!
