Test strips do work!
I was weary about trying these and the accuracy on them. But after a night of a few alcoholic shots I tested my milk the strip did not change at all. So I added an alcoholic drink and my milk to a jar mixed together then tested it & the strip did in fact change!

Quick and easy to read
Forgot to label which pump I did after having a few drinks on date night, these were quick and easy to use to know which one I needed to dump!

Peace of mind
Gives me peace of mind that the milk I have is safe for baby to consume after a drink or two!

5/5… Cheers mamas!! 🍷🍹🥂
Easy to use, reliable, & great price point! These have always been accurate for me & give me peace of mind when feeding my baby. I exclusively pump so I just dip the strip into a bottle of milk & count outloud for 10 seconds & still get accurate enough results. I say “enough” becuz some reviews complain that it detects alcohol when it shouldn’t but I’d rather it detect any trace than to read as none! Love these!! & will continue to buy for myself & baby shower gifts.

Reliable but sometimes you have to wait more than 2-3 minutes for accurate results
I have used these QUITE a bit. Here is my consensus: To drink 1 drink (12 oz of beer at 6%-7% ABV) and test clear, you have to wait at least 2 hours after you have taken the last sip. I always check the time of my last sip and add at least 2 hours. Normally, it will be clear. Of course, this depends on how hydrated you are, how tall the glass was, how strong the alcohol was, if you are outside sweating or not, how much you’ve eaten, and lastly, how quickly or not your body metabolizes the alcohol. So many variables. This gets murkier when you have 2 drinks back to back. I only do this if I drink them back to back at 8pm after my baby has gone to bed. If you’ve had 2 drinks, after the last sip of your second drink, add at least 4 hours to when you can feed or pump again. The frustrating part: these don’t always detect the alcohol within the 2-3 minute testing period after you have waited your allotted time. Sometimes, if I have my 2 drinks at 8pm and I get up at midnight to pump, I will test, wait 2 minutes, initially, it’ll be clear. I will start pumping and 8 minutes into my pump, I have looked at the strip and there is a blue tint to it. My take on this is my body has almost completely metabolized the alcohol but there is still lingering alcohol in my milk and it’s so minimal that it’s almost undetectable. At that point, I will stop the pump and bag that milk and label it as alcohol and use it for baths. If you have 3 or more drinks, it would be best to chug some water before bed and sleep overnight before pumping or feeding. My rule of thumb is 2 hours per drink after I have taken the last sip of the drink. My drinks are always beer in a 12 oz can. If you have a pint (16oz of beer), you’ll have to wait longer than 2 hours after your last sip. To address the elephant in the room- I wish there were better recommendations on alcohol and breastfeeding. My lactation consultant said if you can drive, you can breastfeed. Some nurses I have spoke to have also said this. At the end of the day, my take on it is: I don’t want my baby to consume any alcohol from my body. I don’t want to impact the development of my baby’s brain by allowing her to consume alcohol I have chosen to drink.

Very pleased with accuracy
Purchased these strips to test breastmilk we were unsure if enough time had passed to clear the alcohol after a night of drinking. We tested four strips - one for milk pumped before drinking, one for milk pumped after drinking which for sure had alcohol, one for milk pumped the next day after alcohol had for sure cleared, and then one for the milk pumped which was in question. The two milk bottles that for sure had no alcohol tested negative. The milk bottle that for sure had alcohol tested positive. And the milk bottle in question tested positive, so we dumped it. Really, really pleased with the accuracy of these strips.

Wanted to save a buck… Big MISTAKE!
Let me preface this review by saying I love Papablic products and own many of them. I appreciate that most of their stuff is just as good and more economical, but these test strips are a total dud! My husband and I went out for an anniversary dinner and the cocktails were flowing. I always get rid of my “next pump” after drinking but checked the second pump with one of these test strips. It came out clear, I started packing it up for future feeds for my baby but something inside of me was doubting the result due to how much I drank that night. I had some leftover strips from a reputable brand that comes in a pink box, I decided to test it with that strip and it instantly turned blue. Reading other reviews it seems like some people are having the same results or ones that detect alcohol in dairy free milk out of the fridge? False positives and false negatives are not what you want from your alcohol test strips. Thought I could save a buck but turns out I have to chuck the rest of these test strips because I no longer believe the results. What a let down!

🎶 Girls just Wana have funnn 😂🎶
I'll be honest I like to have a drink or two and when my family gets together we do tend to drink and it seems like there is a birthday or event or whatever constantly happening and after almost a yr of missing everything (pregnant) it's really nice to be able to partake again. With that being said I purely breast feed and I can't risk not being able to feed my son. So I love these! I've tested them multiple times out of paranoia haha and Everytime they worked. I've basically got it down to knowing how much I can drink and for how long the alcohol will be in my system. When the strip is white after two /three minutes I know the alcohol is out of my milk. If it turns even the lightest amount of blue I know there is alcohol. Depending on how blue it is I'll also know how long to wait before testing it again. So it's definitely nice to have them on hand. Very much worth it. And simple to use. U don't even have to fill up a cup to test it. Just squeeze some out onto the strip, (enough to fully saturate it) and then wait to see if it turns blue .
