Works great for me...
but I don't know how well they work for soldering since I wear them for medical purposes.

Safe shade for lampworking
Sturdy build. Hinge screw in center for snug fit.

Dark lens as stated but need to protect face from UV
The lens are as dark as the face shield that came with the Linclon Wire Welder. But please note you must protect your face from the UV radiation of the welding arc or it will burn unprotected skin just like UV radiation in sunlight. I use a simple face shroud to cover my face when using the goggles also bought on Amazon.

Look directly into the sun and see a 2nd sun
Just put them on, at a certain time on a clear day look for the second source of light next to the sun, who knows you may see AMC trying to squeeze out

Not as advertised
Definitely not a shade 10. I use shade 5 for acetylene cutting and these are a matching shade. I frequently need to weld chain lap links closed and don't want to break out my welding hood for two seconds worth of welding. I guess I'll go back to closing my eyes before striking an arc. Thumbs down.

the safety glasses were received in fine condition (new)
These were to be used to watch the solar eclipse, but it turned out that these shade #10 glasses were not enough shading for the moon/sun event of 8/21/17. I passed them along to a welder supply shop to give to a student. She then sold me the 2" x 4.25" welder mask window glass that was sufficient at #14 shading. Nonetheless, the safety glasses were received in fine condition (new). I was surprised when I looked through them that they would not be sufficient for the eclipse according to the NASA and other scientific government websites that gave info. Thank you anyway.

Not a 10 shade
Bought these for mig welding in areas I can not fit my head, with the bulk of a helmet- Such as under cars, in wheel wells, etc. After about 30 seconds of weld time I'm already seeing blue spots. They are not a shade 10..probably something more like a 7 or 8. These are not really usable honestly.
