You claim up to 21 decibels of reduction but I ordered these and the bag says 12 decibel reduction. Which is it?

Keep in mind that when eargasm says their "Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is 16 decibels" that does NOT mean it reduces the sound by 16dB. It actually means it reduces the sound by 4.5dB. A Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is used as follows: (NRR -7)/2 = total dB decrease/dampening from original exposure.

Question 2

I work as a flight attendant and would like to wear them while i am working. I am concered how well i can still hear people while wearing them

I work at a theme park that was doing fireworks all summer. I wore these while working at a counter with lots of people, while the fireworks were going off. I could hear my customers just fine while not getting nauseous from the sound of the fireworks. I also asked a coworker if I sounded like I was yelling when I talked. She said I sou ded normal. 
I originally ordered Eargasms for my mom a few years ago because she has two diseases of the inner ear that affect her balance. They worked so well for her that I ordered them for myself and I have been very happy.

Im in a band and go to a lot of shows. I need earplugs that have a high fidelity to the sound a a flat frequency response to hear parts. Will it work?

What is the preferred method of cleaning these?

Hi Mike!Ryan from Eargasm here, thanks for the question! We recommend that the earplugs are cleaned off with a damp cloth with either water or non-abrasive chemicals such as mild soap.
