Whats the purpose for the large gear pictured on the inside of the safe. Next to the shelf.

Hi Michael, thank you for contacting Wood Trick! Please be advised that the large gear next to the shelf is one of the important functional gears which is necessary for the correct closing and opening of the door. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us anytime! Best, Wood Trick, US team

What is the first code for the lock in the instructions? As I’ve tossed mine and forgot what it is.

How long will it take a capable adult to complete?

It was a gift for my adult son who likes to do big Lego projects and complex things. It took him 3 hours.

Can anyone tell me what type of wood is used and it's thickness. Also, what are the dimensions and weight after assembly?

I don't know the type of wood used, but it's about 9" X 9" when it's done, and maybe half a pound.
