Richards Homewares Over The Door Shoe Organizer, 26-Pocket, Clear Vinyl

I bought this model to replace my previous over-the-door shoe storage. There was nothing wrong with my previous model (it was actually awesome!), I just needed more compartments due to my growing oxford collection. Shipping was fast, but the product was shipped in a giant box. The product is longer than your average box, but I feel like sending gigantic boxes for awkward items is a waste of resources. I am happy that they used brown paper to fill up the empty space in the box. At least that is easier to recycle than the plastic bubble wrap. The assembly was easy and the door hooks feel very strong (so far). However, the "fabric" that it is made of is very soft and thin. It does not feel strong enough to support the shoes over a long period of time. The pre-cut holes are reinforced, but with more of that fabric. My previous system had metal reinforcements around the holes. It would be great if they even used vinyl to reinforce the holes. Basically, something that is going to hold that much weight should have a little extra support. When I was installing the system, I found it difficult to line up the holes onto the hangers because the holes are also a tad small. Once it was installed and shoes were organized, the system moves every time you open the door. The more weight it holds, the more it swings. To fix this, we secured the system to the actual door in 4 places (using washers and screws). Two screws at the very bottom and two in the middle. This additional step made the swinging stop. Finally, this system will hold 26 pairs of shoes if your shoe size is on the smaller side. I tried adding some of my husband's shoes to the system and they took up an entire compartment for each shoe. His shoe size is US 11 and it barely fit. I can't imagine putting a size 14 shoe in these compartments. My shoes are US 6 - 7 womens. I was able to fit two pairs in each compartment. However, if the compartment was bulky, this made the compartment underneath it smaller. So I organized the compartments by alternating bulky pairs and small pairs. This seems to have helped fit more shoes into the organizer. My goal was to organize more shoes, this system allowed me to do that. It definitely needs extra steps to fit my need, and lastly, I worry about it lasting. For the time being, I feel that I can give this a 4 star rating. I will update if that changes.

So far it’s worked wonders. I love how it fits mostly every shoe size. I bought it for my 9 year old son room so it’s nice that he could see the shoes since it’s clear. All the shoes look neat and not a mess, and that it also fits a lot of shoes more than the traditional shoe pocket organizers.

I’ve never been happier. I have my closet floor back for walking into. Yaye. Easy to hang. The bottom is not tacked down so close your door with might and the bottom moves forward about five inches but nothing flies out neither does it fly off the hanging hook braces. My closet door before this had a belt hanger so my door would close if really pushed. This has the same issue. But I don’t care I lived with that dumb over the door belt hanger for thirty years or more. Sure the closet door paint was a mess from belts hitting it and the belt hanger itself. BUT this shoe hanger hides imperfections nicely until time to paint. It will rub the paint off the inside top door frame but I already had all that with my previous belt hanger. Best few bucks ever spent and when it’s time to sell a quick painting of closet door and frame will make it look new again. Yaye. Yippee. It’s the small things that bring joy to this heart. Oh, one last thing...you can place flip flops, slippers and sandle pairs into one slot, but boot slippers or bulky shoes, sneakers or boots will only fit one shoe per slot. Product came with no tears or misses braces. Perfect.

Bought this for shoe storage. I have women's size 9 1/2 or 10 shoes and they fit inside the organizer well, fully encased in the slots with minimal squishing. I have only used it to hold sandals and flats and I can fit both shoes in one slot, but if I ever used it for tennis shoes I would need to use one slot per shoe, and boots are not going to fit at all but I never expected them too. I hung it on a door that opens to my hot water heater and vent system so I rarely open the door and have not experienced the problem with things falling out when the door is opened and closed. I would assume that putting some heavy objects in the bottom slots, or attaching string to the bottom - running it down under the door and then tying it to the back of the hooks, could help with that but haven't needed to try it.I've also used the upper section to store gloves, scarves, and other small easily misplaces or lost items. I would suggest getting the white one. Having a white background makes finding dark colored items in the slots a lot easier. Kinda like how it's easier to look for a black object in a white lined bag vs a black lined one.

I was hesitant about getting this because another purchaser had said they bought it and the door didn't close. I took a chance and I'm so glad I did. I have a tall door, so this was perfect because it's so long. Lots of storage for my shoes (I have SOOO many shoes) and this helped a lot. My door does close and it doesn't even stick. The material is sturdy and I'm sure it will last for years!!!I would show a picture, but my iPhone is a pain with converting pics to HEIC instead of JPG. lol

I really needed this to work in our closet, but the brackets are too thick & our door would not close. It’s being returned & I’m off to try to find another solution…

This strong, sturdy, well-made organizer will hold 26 pairs of my shoes easily. Can’t believe how much space was freed up by getting the shoes out of the self-type shoe organizers that I had on the floor. Get it!

My storage came with no hooks so I cannot even use or test it to give it an appropriate review. Waste of money.

I wouldn’t buy it again. Doesn’t stay on hooks. I’ve only had it for a week and it has already unhooked twice.Good idea, bad product.
