Groomsman Battery Operated Facial Hair Trimmer for Beard & Mustache Trimming Including Light Detailing and Body Grooming – Model 9906-717V

Why I Need This: I've been shaving with Norelco electric razors for years. And while I like the way they shave, their built-in pop-up trimmer leaves something to be desired. I don't have a beard. But I do have a mustache and sideburns that need to be trimmed. It's not that that Norelco's pop-up trimmer doesn't work. But in order to get the desired results, I have to keep going over the same area multiple times. I thought to myself, if only I could find an inexpensive trimmer that would do the job quickly and easily. Tada! Wahl to the rescue! The Performance: All I can say is wow. For fifteen bucks this little trimmer is amazing. I was all set to buy something a lot more expensive. I'm glad I didn't. First of all, I don't need or want a trimmer for hair in my nose and ears (I prefer scissors and tweezers for that). Secondly, I have no use for a dozen different attachments to trim the hair on my head (my barber would kill me). And thirdly, I'm not the sort of guy who likes to manscape my manly parts, or even think of shaving off my treasure trail (look it up if I lost you). The Cutting Mechanism: Surprisingly for the money, the blade mechanism on this trimmer is not a flimsy piece of stamped metal. The base plate is thick, and it's "precision ground" per Wahl. I believe it. And unlike the crappy trimmer on my Norelco razor, this trimmer contains a lot of closely spaced teeth. The end result is that I can set the length of my sideburns and trim my mustache in about 1/3 the time. Power Requirements: This trimmer does not work or come with a cord. Nor does it have a built-in rechargeable battery. Nor does it come with any batteries at all. It uses two (2) AA batteries that you'll have to supply yourself. You can power it using regular alkaline batteries. But I already have a battery charger and a bunch of rechargeable AA batteries, so that's what I use. Warranty: The warranty on this trimmer is three years. But considering the cheap price, it may not even be worth the cost of postage to return it to Wahl if it quits working. Maintenance: This trimmer is not waterproof. Don't use it in the shower, or use water to clean it. Use the included brush to brush away unwanted hairs in the cutting mechanism. Wahl includes a little bottle of oil. You're supposed to apply a few drops to the cutting mechanism every month. Country of Origin: Unlike some Wahl products that were made in the USA, this trimmer was made in Vietnam. Closing Comments: It's inexpensive, and it works very well for my needs. I didn't mention it earlier, but the shape of this trimmer is easy to hold. I'm very pleased with this product.

I FINALLY(!) got that "bastar* blister-pack open! (More on that later). I was SO excited I grabbed the "TALLEST" ATTACHMENT, thinking "THIS IS the SAFEST" because it will keep the BLADES 'FURTHEST' from my 'new beard' and moustache. ~ wrong. What I didn't know is; THAT >"ONE ATTACHMENT"< actually has "FIVE Settings"! Position "ONE" brings the blades "CLOSEST" to the skin! Mine was set to "1" so in seconds my moustache WAS indeed "trimmed and uniform', BUT it was also HALF the length of my beard! Three days later my moustache is just starting to fill-in again. This handsome Trimmer has a WONDERFUL and POWERFUL feel to it. It also offers REAL 'PRECISION' with no dangling cord to distract you. It is perfect for moustache trims above your lips. I must add that RIGID "blister pack amor" is outrageous. I finally opened the damned blister pack off using my 'best' shears and that took at least 10 minutes. ~ It was truly overkill@! Now my best heavy duty shears have a wabble and will never be the same... so expect a battle. I strongly recommend tin snips instead.

Great trimmer for the price. I love the fact I can put it in a drawer and not have a big charging station cluttering up the vanity. who wants to see that? Right? This is my second one as I dropped my 5-year-old one on the floor and it broke the battery cover. I tried a cordless trimmer of another brand and the internal battery died after 6 months. I went back to this one with replaceable battery's. No chargers or cords to keep up with. I keep the blades oiled up and it runs flawlessly. The only issue I have is that I like my beard trimmed real tight and the closest guard is too long for my liking. The blades also could be a little sharper, and the motor a little more quite, but for the price and dependability it is not that big of a deal.

Why did I waste so much time and money on rechargeable trimmers from big box stores over the years? This thing is simple and works great. Batteries last a lot longer than I expected. It uses alkaline AA batteries so I never have to wait for it to charge. Just swap and go.

This a great trimmer. It is more powerful than my other trimmer. Takes care of my beard and mustache. Works great.

This trimmer has no base, no organizer, no storage capability - not even a bag. It appears that Wahl expects that everything will just get dumped on the countertop or crammed into a drawer. The trimmer comes with several accessories, but it has absolutely no means of storing them. I have purchased Wahl trimmers in the past, and every one of them has come with a base, with slots for storing accessories. Sadly, this new Wahl trimmer has no base. To make matters worse, it will not even fit into the base for my old Wahl trimmer (Which gave me good service for many years.). I called Wahl Customer Service, and I was informed that they are moving away from providing bases. It is not possible to even purchase a base separately. My guess is that another idiot executive got a promotion by making the Customer Experience just a bit more frustrating. The device itself seems to be of good quality. I especially like the fact that it uses standard AA batteries, rather than the fixed internal rechargeable type. Standard batteries are much easier to properly dispose of, so I find that to be a very positive point. Wahl has lost a Customer. In general, I have liked Wahl products over the years, and this trimmer is no exception. Unfortunately, in the future, I will not be buying from a manufacturer that ignores the basic realities of their Customer's experience with their product. Although this trimmer works fine, I am looking for a replacement with a proper base/storage.

以前に購入したものを、誤って水没させてしまったので購入。以前は髭やもみあげ処理だけじゃなく、鼻毛カットやらシェーバー機能やら盛りだくさんだったが、こちらは至ってシンプル。でも自分の必要な機能はこれで十分でした。 リチウム電池内臓じゃなく、乾電池や充電池で動く仕様になったのは良い点。お値段も手頃で買いやすいのも良い。
