This bag is the shiz
This bag ticks all the boxes for me. It looks good, it has zippered pouches, pouches easy to get at, it can be closed with a flap or zippered closed, and the flap has velcro that is coverable so you can open it quietly. You all know how it is with camera bags. You'll get the greatest thing ever, but it's the wrong size. You'll find something the right size but it is missing a feature you want. Somehow you always want another bag. I've gotten a few in the last five years or so because of this and this one is higher quality than all of them. I had a good bag from another company for years that was about this size. After 15 years the zippers failed and, frankly, it looked like a shiny nylon camera bag so I wanted to replace it. Five years back I bought a Domke bag, which is an absolute classic, and I love the look over shiny modern nylon. It's the classic 70s news reporter bag of there ever was one. But it is not protective and has no padding. The top doesn't zip closed so things can fall out -- I lost my favorite pen when my pen case fell out while on a plane -- and a velcro closed top for quick in and out is really the most convenient of modern conveniences. I got an Amazon branded bag for cheap that closed more securely and held a laptop and it was fine for the price. But it isn't particularly good, just good for the price. I like it for travel with its computer case, and I like that its fabric rather than shiny, but it only OK overall. And it's too big for walking around locally, when I'm not carrying a computer with me and don't want to bring two spare lenses and a flashgun. I also have a couple of holsters, just big enough for the camera with the lens on it, which are wonderfully compact, but obviously limited. Enter this badboy. It's big enough for my Z7 or 7100 wearing a lens, another lens, and acessories like a flash gun, or maybe a small prime. That's it for the camera compartment, but that's enough. There's also a hole for a tablet or whatever in the padded section, and this whole camera/tablet section can be zipped close for secure storage. The back has a zipper closed pocket, good for storing a cellphone or something valuable when you're doing street photography where there might be pickpockets, a situation I've encountered before. The front has both zipper closed pockets and open pockets that are easily accessible. The open pocket is pretty secure as the top flap closes over it and can be velcroed down. As mentioned above, the velcro holds the top flap securely but you can leave the camera compartment unzipped and pull it up quickly to grab the contents, or leave it zipped when you want it to be much more secure. The velcro has covers that you can put over it so you can leave it closed, but silently open it, which is great at a wedding or concert when you might want to reach into the bag and not make an obnoxious velcro ripping noise and watch the whole crowd turn around and stare at you just as the bride is about to recite her vows. Construction is high quality. Everything looks sturdy and really well made. Even the shoulder strap is nice, and the padded part that goes over the shoulder ACTUALLY WORKS. Like, it's padded, comfortable, and stays on your shoulder where most other bags I've had might as well just be the strap, the shoulder pad is so useless. And it looks good. To my personal aesthetic tastes. So, I'm happy with this one. It'll see a lot of use. When the cheap Amazon bag wears out I might splurge on the bigger model for those times I need to fly somewhere for work and want to bring a laptop and my camera.

Best bag ever ….. by far!!!
Comfortable. Form fitting to hip and waist. On cold nights it works like a heater where it leans against the body. So many incredible features. Ipad pro 12.9 storage. Being able to easily close bag with a flip of the flap. Automatically connects to very strong velcro. Don’t need to take time to zip for quick closure. Velcro closure is very strong. You would hear if someone opened your bag. Kind of like a built in alarm system. Makes getting in and out of bag so secure and effortless not having to mess with zippers. But the zippers are there for extra security. Love the black color for event photography. Many pockets and pouches. One of my favorites is the optional outside cup/bottle opener. Was shooting high school football and snuck a canned soda in the pouch. Open can didn't spill as I walked. Material is military grade and soft. Every bag I have bought over the years can't compare to this one. I finally got it right with this bag. It has many uses as a plain messenger bag as well. Picnic bag. Well balanced. Doesn’t tip over. I have had at least 20 bags and I can give them all away now. Thank you ThinkTank. You really got this one right. I put my R6ii and14-35L mounted, 24-70L, 70-200L in center section. iPad Pro in the bag compartment and all my straps, caps, filters, etc. in the big front accessories pocket. And the bonus for me is the optional water bottle pocket on the outside of bag. I use it for my Canon 66o Speedlite. This way I am covered for a wedding. Even room inside for some small primes. I hate carrying gear but when I have to, this is the best bag I have ever found that carries all my required stuff. I have a mind shift photo cross 10 for going to the car races and sports as I wear it continuously. The bag doesn't stand up. It just kind of flops. The Retrospective Bag stands up without falling over. For weddings it is a must.

Own numerous Thinktank bags because I need to compromise many requirements. This one being a shoulder bag for travelling tours can also piggyback onto rolling luggage, another one of Thinktanks Airport carryons. I have to say it’s a big on the big side, but I can carry it around as a shoulder camera bag the whole day. It can easily hold my Z9 with the 24-120 F4 when I’m not deploying it, and still has room for a Zf + 14-40 F4, but the latter I prefer to snap on the shoulder strap with the Falcam quickrelease. When shooting, my Z9 is tagged onto a BlackRapid on my right shoulder, leaving the bag hanging off my left shoulder with the Zf. Everything into the bag at the end of each mission at lunch or dinner with no equipment expised to prying eyes.

This is an exceptionally well-designed camera bag. I am sure that some will find imperfections but I have yet to discover any. It holds my camera and 2 additional lenses with ease and provides convenient rapid access. It is comfortable to carry, looks smart and does not scream camera bag to the rest of the world.
