THE BEST
Moleskine are awesome. A variety of sizes and versatile heavyweight paper. Tough to beat, short of Holbein. Great prices here.

Classic. Simple. Perfect.
Yes, the pages are an archival cream color. It's part of the moleskine charm. These are sturdy, they lay flat on any page (great for scanning and splash pages), have a pocket in the back for storing references or notes, and they have a built in bookmark threaded in the spine. Oh, and they smell like art. This is the best sketchbook I've ever had. I've got a few of them now and years from now I will have shelves of them. I draw every day, filling one or two pages per day. I have gone through 6 sketchbooks in the last year and these are my favorite. A note: Copic and Prismacolor markers will bleed thru. I thought they wouldn't because of how thick the pages are, but they do. A really good marker for moleskines are tombow dual brush pens. They build darkness well, are water based and don't bleed if you don't oversaturate the page.

Amazing Notebook!
Amazing little book. This is my first time owning a Moleskine and I have to say that I'm in love. The pages are thick and smooth, they hold up to ink very well, with no bleeding through to the other side. I haven't tried paint on the pages yet, but I've seen others do it and they were amazed as well at how well the pages held up. The little pop out pocket in the back is very useful for small pieces of paper and the paper ruler they give you actually comes in handy for a few things. The strap that keeps the book closed when not in use is also a very helpful addition. This is a durable little book. All in all this product is amazing and I'd recommend Moleskine notebooks to everyone, especially artists out there looking for a good companion <3

Something about them
I know there are lots of very good sketchbooks out there and many cheaper than a Moleskine, but I just keep coming back. I found that a large sketchbook kept me from bringing it with me, and this size is perfect to shove into a pocket, bag or just carry around. It is more important for me to grab a quick sketch, jot an idea down or record information for later than to have a large finished work of art. These sketchbooks are perfect for that. I fill them and keep going back to them in my studio whenever I need inspiration. And, let's face it, as a maker I appreciate something well made. I always felt the little pocket in the back was 'cute', but then I began to stuff it with everything from business cards to travel mementos. Each sketchbook has a little archive in that pocket that brings back memories and helps inspire. I have applied gesso to pages and, while they may curl at first, they generally lay flat after awhile. The pages take pencil, pen and the gessoed pages handle silver and gold point well. There may be bleed through with markers, but it isn't a big deal unless you need each page perfect to draw on. Wish they cost a little less, but I enjoy them.

Perfect
I find this sketchbook perfect. I like to carry around a small sketchbook with a pen to sketch new architectural ideas and concepts as I think of them or see them, as well as write different thoughts into it. This pocket sketchbook was smaller than I expected, but it turned out to be the perfect size for use. Some people say that the paper was too yellow and weren't warned about it. The other pictures I saw online clearly showed a yellow tint, and I personally love it. It gives a different character and feel for the book. It takes ink very well. I've done some calligraphic writing in it, so sometimes the ink needs a few seconds to dry, but it takes it well. The thick pages keep bleeding away, so you don't get annoying lines from ink on your new pages. I think this pocket sketchbook is perfect for anyone that wants to carry it around for everyday use.

Fabulous
I've used these things for the last... 25 years. (Wow!) They're solid, they absorb ink well, they're good quality. They don't bleed onto other pages so you can use back and front. They're WORTH the money.

Great with Copics!
It's perfect for what I wanted. Its small so I can take it anywhere with me, since I want to draw more when I'm not at home but all my sketchbooks are too big to put in my purse. I also use Copic markers and was REALLY hoping this worked well with them and it does! The color lays on smooth and can blend together. It does bleed through if you put too much copic ink on one area but all you gotta do is put some paper behind the page so you can save the next page. All in all it's absolutely perfect for what I was wanting: Works with copics, is small enough for me to bring anywhere.

Love these sketchbooks
Love these sketchbooks! The paper is super smooth, which I love for my ink and markers. Not as well suited for wet mediums but it handles acrylic well and I practice watercolour in there occasionally, even if the paper gets a bit rough after some use. Any water based marker will work wonders in this sketchbook, alcohol markers bleed through the paper, but the surface takes to it well. I haven't found a sketchbook that doesn't bleed through with the alcohol markers. Bit pricey, but the paper is really nice and the binding looks super professional.

Honestly good one..!
One of the best sketchbooks. Takes everything well except watercolors.. little expensive for the size, but it keeps your effort and artwork intact. Been using it for more than 2 yrs now. No problem with stitching and cover quality etc.

Perfect for sketching outside
These little sketchbooks are perfect for carrying around in a bag or a pocket but particularly useful for those of us who still like to draw with a pen or pencil and colour with watercolour. Watercolour is still the most convenient medium to carry around. The paper is excellent and supports colour on both sides.
