"Shadow Lake" Great ,"Agony Creek" One Setup Issue *
Shadow Lake plays really well on Windows 10 and is entertaining with interesting graphics (filling the screen on my 4K 40" monitor) and imaginative interactivity, at my difficulty level (with hints, still difficult). I wish I could know which videos games have this particular production style, (but with a carry story that does not lead to some of the religious parts that seem they might be sacrilegious. However, it does start to feel so evil that you DO appreciate a counter attack).I can't rate Agony Creek; The cursor doesn't make menu selections at correct spot, you have to search for a spot for it to light up the choice.. Even worse the cursor does nothing with objects but only zooms to objects with magnifying glass. but "Mystery Lake" alone makes this was worth $10.00.*The cursor on Agony Creek now works correctly at a resolution 2560x1440 @125% (CORRECTION: only 125% is needed, I was using 200.) but must be changed manually before loaded. Also, on the tutorial a message appears "to grab something click the cell phone." but being on PC, I click the left mouse button and nothing appears in inventory. Oh, the cell phone IS the object and is used immediately, so doesn't go into inventory. (It works now, but I left the problem in for others who may find starting confusing.)There is high enough ratio of action graphics to hidden objects sections to rate these 4 stars. (Finding objects for inventory/use is okay.) Sound effects and music work here too, without being too repetitive. The attractive personal assistants in both games, one real and the other real-like animations, makes it more interesting for me.
