Works flawlessly in Windows 10/11. Linux setup is not plug and play.
If youโre looking to add WiFi to a computer, donโt want to have to take that computer apart at all, and only want to spend $10, and youโre running Windows, this is a great choice. This adaptor is compact, well-made, and completely plug and play with Windows 10 or 11. Simply plug it into an available USB port (preferably USB 3.0) youโll shortly hear Windowsโ โplugged in a new deviceโ chime, and in about 20 seconds itโs completely installed and running, without using the included driver disc or needing any other network connection to download the driver. For the best, as the included 3โ driver CD was not readable in any computer I tried it in. If you want to use it with a Linux system, the picture is a bit less rosy. This adaptor is built around a RealTek RTL8811CU chipset. The drivers for this chip have not been integrated into the Linux Kernal, as installed in most mainline Linux distributions. It will not โwork out of the boxโ or โplug and playโ as youโll need to manually install the driver into your kernal for it to work. The specific details of this will vary, depending on what version and distribution of Linux youโre running. Once I did get it working, it performed flawlessly and worked as expected. Performance and signal strength are adequate. The adaptor trades antenna performance for a small overall size, but this is readily apparent going in. I docked one star for the non-readable driver CD, and the fact that the Linux setup was so tedious, given that I bought it specifically to use with a Linux system.

Adapter kept turning off, no documentation
The item came packaged in a small plastic bag with an installation CD and nothing else, no documentation not even a sleeve identifying what was in the bag. I expected better packaging that gave the impression I was getting a new device (which it 100% may have been), just appeared cheap. The included CD was not readable by my laptop CD drive, nor CD/DVD drives I have on other computers. Other reviews have noted the same. I decided to just go the plug and play route and let Windows handle the install, which it did. It did connect to my wifi, unfortunately the device kept turning off. Upon reboot, the blue light on the adapter would flicker and connect to my network for a minute or so and then the blue light would just turn off and my laptop would disconnect from wifi. I went to view my installed network adapters and the adapter would show up for a very brief period and then disappear, as if it wasn't installed. It would alternate between being installed and not even existing. I tried a different USB port on the laptop, I uninstalled/reinstalled with same results. I took it a step further and tried it on another computer and the exact same thing happened. There are about 15%-20% of reviewers mentioning this same or similar connectivity issue. Maybe I just received a defective one, as for many it appears to work fine. Sending back, will try a different brand.

this little device resurrected my WiFi connection...OUTSTANDING...!!!
I had a DELL laptop that the WiFi Card had stopped recognizing he network that all of my other devices recognized and connected to. I had switched to a WiFi6 platform and when I did, my current WiFi card stopped recognizing the network. I bought this little USB WiFi device, in desperation, hoping for a miracle and that's exactly what I got. This device came with a driver CD that quickly installed the drivers and I was back up and able to connect to the "invisible" network. I can't thank, enough, whoever designed these little gadgets but they really are lifesavers.

Small fit great connectivity
I was skeptical as this is an off brand, but surprised with is functionality. It has a great connection, easy to use of and play, good speeds and strong signal strength. I'm using it for an older computer and it works great. I recommend and just purchased two more for other computers.

A Handy Little Tool
WOW cable provides me with a 300 Mb download speed. I have an old Dell laptop that, because of antiquated hardware/software, would not receive this 300 Mbs from my internet provider, but rather would only use 45-55 Mbs from the 300 Mb available. I was using my cable provided Wi-Fi from my router/modem provided by WOW, which has a built in 2.4Gb Wi-Fi network, which only allowed for the drastically lower speed. I looked for a faster processor, plus I contacted Dell to see what I could get for updates, and try to get this download speed increased. My brother has used a USB network adapter for his laptop for years,so, I thought I would give this one a try, particularly since it can handle the 5G network signal coming from my router/modem. Now, my download speed runs from 225-245 Mbs. I can't get the total 300 Mbs, but the difference that's already been made is stunning, and now things are very much improved when I download. All for 8 bucks.

Plug it in and go
Needed a wireless fix for a new computer. Had no way to connect to the internet without it and no cd drive. Plugged it in and it worked perfectly. Did not need to install driver. Very pleased and relieved both with price and functionality.

Works great
Device works great. The only issue i had was the mini disc with the drivers on it. Most of the computers i work with don't have disc drives and the ones that did are the type that don't have the locking mechanism to hold the disc in the center. I did find one and copied the disc to a thumb drive... I would have appreciated a link to download the drivers or had the drivers install from the device. it be worth docking a half star but not a whole one. Hey it works though, worth mentioning that the computer i am using this on is basically 4' back and 20' below an AP in a big open warehouse so i am not sure how well it would work over a distance...
