Exactly what i expected
its a aluminum plate. nothing really too it. works great and the surface finish is nice and polished.Reason for 4 stars is the hardware that comes with it is pretty cheap. I accidently broke off the heads one 2 of them so I switched out all of the screws for some stronger ones

Door Protector
Glad to have found this. It keeps the dogs from jagging up the wooden doors when trying to get in. I counter-sunk the holes and used flush screws for a cleaner look.

Different use
I actually put these under my doorknob to cover scratch area my dog made. It looks great. Definitely a cheaper way of doing it than recommended ways on 'dog' sites
