Powerful Whistle That Cuts Through Noise The FOX 40 Sonik Blast whistle is exactly what I needed for situations where volume and clarity matter. It’s extremely loud—so much so that it can easily cut through background noise on a sports field, at outdoor events, or even in emergency scenarios. The high-pitched tone carries far, and unlike traditional whistles, there’s no pea inside to jam or freeze up, which makes it reliable in all conditions. I like the bright yellow-and-black color combination because it’s easy to spot if dropped in grass or packed gear. The build feels sturdy, and the design is simple but effective—no moving parts to wear out. I’ve used it during coaching sessions and a few outdoor hikes, and every time it delivered consistent performance without requiring much effort to blow. One thing to keep in mind: it is extremely loud. That’s the point, of course, but indoors or in close quarters it can be overwhelming, so I recommend using it in open spaces where the volume can do its job without being too jarring. Bottom line: A top-tier whistle that’s rugged, bright, and unbelievably loud—perfect for coaches, referees, safety personnel, or anyone who needs a reliable signal in noisy environments.

This Sonik Blast whistle is exactly as described. It’s extremely easy to blow. I’m not sure if it’s actually 120dB, but I can say without hesitation that it is crazy loud. The sound is super clear, very strong, and will make your ears ring if you’re not careful. It has a slightly cushioned mouth grip, which is comfortable, and the design produces a powerful blast that carries over long distances with no distortion. I bought this whistle to scare off coyotes that kept coming into my backyard and trying to get my dog and it absolutely works. After using it, they haven’t been back for a few days, and I’m hoping they stay gone for good. This is a great safety whistle, and I plan on buying several more one for each dog leash, each keychain, and another to keep nearby. Very effective, well made, and worth every penny.

Works great! Be a coach and go TEAM go! Can get kids down from a 3 story play structure in a single blow. Better than a fire alarm to move ladies that lunch out into the courtyard to safety. Will warn weary travelers of ICEicles in the neighborHOOD. Can be used to finds someone in the dark its so bright.

Twice as loud. Definitely more shrill. Requires more breath to maintain noise due to double vent. Silicone lip grip is helpful. Its hard to tell by watching the video, BUT, hubby said the Fox whistle is "easily twice as loud" as the standard whistle. It is easier to hold a sustained trill with a standard whistle as the pea and chamber in a standard regulate the airflow. However, for LOUD, this one wins. For short repetitive toots, the Fox is super awesome. In the video, I cut my blow short because its LOUD and I didn't want to scare my neighbors. (That and im old, chubby, and out of shape.) The connection point loops are substantial and look like they will hold up to some abuse. The silicone mouth grip thingie encases the whistle, which appears to be made with three connected pieces. Thr lanyard is a tube with both a snap connector and a slide toggle which will allow for wearing around the neck or wrist. Around the neck, the snap closure will allow for break away safety if pulled.

Very good whistle, the color is nice and bright. It's also very loud (120-125 decibels) one of the loudest whistles I've used, it's also easy to blow. One problem: when I was refereeing a middle school soccer game, I noticed that the whistle doesn't produce a uniform blast when you blow it while running. I don't have this problem with the Molten Valkeen whistle (125+ decibels with 2 interfering frequencies) Molten Valkeen Whistle with Flip Grip, Black as it always produces a uniform blast. Unlike the Sonik Blast, the pitch and volume of the Valkeen are easily changed in order to convey my emotion effectively. At $45-$60, the Valkeen is probably out of your price range for a whistle, (In my opinion it's worth it) but the Fox 40 Sonik Blast at around $8 is a suitable alternative for much less. Also consider the many variations of the Fox 40 Classic (Classic, Classic Eclipse, Epik)(All 115 decibels) and also think about the Fox 40 Sharx,(120 decibels) all of those are very good whistles, but at a more affordable price than the Valkeen. Bottom Line: Very good, affordable, one of the best whistles I've used, but not the very best.

We bought several Fox 40 Sonik Blast whistles for our family, and they’ve been fantastic for safety. My mom keeps one with her while working in the garden or walking in the woods, and it’s perfect for getting attention quickly if needed. I have one for hiking to alert others in case of wildlife encounters, and I keep another with me when skiing in the trees for added safety. The Sonik Blast is incredibly loud and effective—definitely loud enough to be heard from a distance. It’s a reliable tool for any outdoor activity where safety is a concern.
